Prince Richard Leonus Stassion, often called Richard of Stassion is the Secondborn Son to Frederick II, King of Oren and Mathilde Euphrosine of Leuven. Despite his turbulent life, he reigns as the first Protector of the Marchlands and Prince of Stassion, forging an independent polity through blood, sweat, and steel.

Events

1914

  • Richard is born Richard Leonus Novellen to Frederick II, King of Oren and his consort Mathilde Euphrosine of Leuven in the County of Mardon.
  • He is left in the care and tutelage of his aunt the Countess of Mardon.

1926

  • Richard and his kin arrive to the lands of Aevos after their troublesome encounters on the Isle of Failor

1932

  • Richard alongside his brother Philip and small retinue of loyalists establish the Stassion Company.

1933

1933

  • The township of Fredericksburg is hastily built to accommodate Richard’s growing population.
  • A feast and tourney is held to celebrate new beginnings for the House, thus reawakening some age old rivalries with those of Balian.
  • An ally and distant cousin to Richard, Sir Lucien de Rouen returns the sword, Conquest to its rightful wielders after maintaining it since the Fall of Oren.

1937

  • Richard marries Ottavia of Pompourelia in a brief yet grand ceremony.
  • That same year his bannermen grew tenfold and attended the Petran Coronation where they stood 350 men strong.

1938

  • With tensions growing between the Petrans over Stassion’s refusal to conform or submit to Petran lifestyle, a deal was struck where Richard and his lands would be transferred to the United Kingdom of Aaun.

1939-1940

  • In these years Richard went off to reconsider and liberate the Free-City of Ulyssa.
  • With his conquest secured he left the Free-City in the stewardship of those loyal to his lineage and the ideals of Philip III.
  • Upon Richard’s return, Stassion earned a promotion to serve as Marcher Lords of Aaun, to defend and protect its borders.

1943

  • In conjunction with the Ferrymen’s own missive, he sought to change the course of his dynasty forever, he alongside his father published “The Naming of Stassion” putting an end to Novellen dynasty once and for all. Opting to change their name after the lands they ruled over, Stassion.

1959

  • With the Siege of Fredericksburg come and gone, the Prince of Stassion and his people forced into exile by the loss of their homeland. It is rumored Richard along the way lost his mind, but those who have seen him as of recently, see no difference except a more cold outlook on the world.
