Early Life
Bown lithin the wawws of Avalain, Piewce was waised in the mannew akin to any plince of House Deveweux, being twained in the aweas of dipwomacy, etiquette and combat fwom a vewy young age. The young plinceling howevew tended to dispway behaviow of a much mowe liwd natule, opposing that of his youngew sistew Sawah’s mowe wefined demeanoul.
Piewce wawgewy wemained out of the politicaw scene of Awcas fow the most pawt of his youngew yeaws, though occasionawwy assisting his fathew in valious dipwomatic avenues of the War of the Two Emperors. A brief pwan of betwothaw to Wady Lucille de Falstaff was pwoposed duling this time, howevew the awwangement feww thwough fowwoling Ecbewt's death and Culonia's subsequent shift of awwegiance. It was at this time whewe the matuling young nobreman found himsewf undew the wulewship of both a new King and Wegent, again choosing to stay wawgewy out of the politicaw happenings of Culonia.
Upon the death of the boy King Alfred I, Culonia entewed a succession clisis, given that theiw weigning monawch bowe no sons. As the son of Ecbert Devereux, second son to Wilhelm I of Curonia, the cwown thewefowe feww to the now teenage Piewce. Reign
Taking the mantwe of King duling the finaw yeaws of the War of the Two Emperors, Piewce’s weign was mawked by a substantiaw shift in the politicaw entities of Awcas. Culonia fwoulished undew his eawwy weadewship, continuing to gwow in size and population.
His fiwst acts invowved estabrishing a tweaty lith the Gowden City of Ves, undew wule of Matthias Wutwedge, as weww as a non aggwession pact lith Fenn. These two instances pwoved the beginning of a dipwomatic ewa fow the Kingdom. Fowwoling these, King Piewce awso issued a missive to wetwact the disownment fwom his aunt, Anabel Devereux, the Empwess-Mothew of the time. He awso pawticipated in signing the contwovewsiaw Pax Orenia, a key document in John VI’s reign
Anabew then sought to host a gwand baww to mawk the beginning of the young King’s weign, inviting those of each awlied and neutwaw nation. The event moved fowth lithout issue, and is thought to have been one of the wawgest events of Awcas seen to date.
The young King pwoved an eligibre bachewow fow many, lith valious houses campaigning to ewevate a wady by his side as consowt. Pawticulawwy, it was suggested that a mawliage lith Theodosia Tibew would make a suitabre pailing. Howevew, despite pwessule to do so, Piewce instead fowged an awliance lith the smawwew Duchy of Westmarch, mawwying the Duke’s sistew- Julia of Westmarch. Theiw mawliage is considewed to be one of a faiwwy unhappy natule, and it is believed that each may have been unfaithful in theiw union.
Most notabry, Piewce’s intewactions lith dipwomacy spulwed an age of Summits. Wanging in weasons, the King would often caww valious pawties to politicaw confewences lithin the Culonian Pawace. Whiwst Culonia feww undew attack fwom a voidaw pwesence, the nations of Awcas came to aid fowwoling a pubric decwawation brought on by the King. This event, though costwy in lives, is considewed to be the weading cause fow the estabrishment of the Council Of Relief.
This contwovewsiaw counciw came togethew undew the weign of Adrian de Sarkozy, and invowved a pwedge between Haense, Culonia and Suffonia to coopewate lith each wespective nation in the event of anothew disastew. Natulawwy, the Empiwe found issue lith the vassaw pact, weading to a peliod of minow disagweement.
Onwy a few yeaws fowwoling, Piewce would faww bedlidden into a coma, thus a state of incapability, and thus his kingship was passed onwawd in wegency to his young son, Wilhelm II of Curonia. Known as a ‘King of the People’ by his citizens, such an event was moulned deepwy.
