Nathaniel Valorum Goldblight was an orphaned Adunian of a Human and a High Elf. Nathaniel was the second Sovereign of Talon's Grotto, subsequently being known as the youngest Sovereign until even the modern day.

History

Nathaniel Valorum Goldblight was born in Year 1740 of the First Era within the Free Trade State of Sutica in Arcas. He was abandoned on the streets from a young age, later going on to be raised by the family of a childhood friend, Reyna Valorum. The family moved to the city of Talon's Grotto during Nathaniel's childhood, and the boy grew on Arthur Sterling for his intelligence and natural charisma. Arthur Sterling went on to personally teach Nathaniel for many years, bringing the boy up to be his prodigy, stating that he wished to raise young Nathaniel to be the next leader when he was unfit to rule.

In Year 1758 of the First Era, Arthur Sterling mysteriously disappeared without a trace, and Nathaniel was lifted to the status of Sovereign of the Depths. Despite his age, Nathaniel ruled Talon's Grotto well, the teachings from Arthur sticking with him through his reign. Beneath the rule of Nathaniel, Talon's Grotto saw growth unlike anything it had experienced to the day, causing the city to begin shifting away from the pirate haven it was once known as, and towards the more isolated, peaceful city it is to this day.

Throughout his rule, Nathaniel Goldblight was known to be interested in the language of Flexio, writing a multitude of cultural documents that went untranslated until Year 7 of the Second Era, where Talon's Port Minister of Culture, Eletha Avery, managed to translate the documents into cultural documents about life within Talon's Grotto.

Though, in Year 1768 of the First Era, Nathaniel Goldblight was found to have been stabbed twenty-three times by a group of five unknown assassins, and pronounced dead upon closer inspection of his body, his rulership being one of the best Talon's Grotto had seen, and would see for many years.

Appearance

Nathaniel Valorum Goldblight was an Adunian born to a Human and a High Elf. He had golden hair and sapphire blue eyes, and was most commonly seen wearing knee-high black boots and a red and white overcoat with gold highlights. During his tenure as Sovereign, he was always seen wearing The Sovereign's Crown, a circlet passed between each Sovereign of Talon's Grotto.

Family

Near the beginning of his reign as Sovereign of the Depths, Nathaniel Goldblight married Reyna Valorum, a human who had been one of his closest childhood friends. Reyna had three children, two of whom died prematurely. His lone surviving child was his daughter, Genevieve Goldblight, though after she grew old enough to leave Talon's Grotto, it is unknown what happened to her.
