The Poisoning of Johannesburg is a World Event that occurred in the Realm of Atlas. It entails events from the in-game date of The 16th of Malin's Welcome, 1595. Distressed from the act and bloodshed of war, Emporer Philip I Frederick Horen took up thanhium explosives to prevent his Kingdom from being seized by the Kingdom of Courland, led by Tobias Staunton in the war titled Eagle's Rebellion. This small-scale rebellion morphed into the Coalition War with time. It's fabled that Emporer Philip's last words before opting to blow up the City were "I have lived steadfast and fierce, I will not kneel to the dogs of war, and my wings shall not be clipped by greedy paws of Staunt.
