Biography

Early Life

Illythia grew up with a family of impoverished Dark Elves, namely her mother, father, and five siblings. She grew up distanced from her family, her brothers and sisters tuning themselves into the arts and reading what little they had. She herself would be abused by her parents for being so uninterested in their culture as a child, and supposedly being a waste of money and time- a leech. With this brewed in her a rage, and she would take it out on other children, being a common bully. She was fantastically smart, born with a gift of extremely strong comprehension. She read books and works of the generals of ancient wars, whenever her siblings managed to steal a copy, or she acquired one in good faith and study. She learned to read and write, and speak. But maths, arts, cultures and the like were things she did not do well at all in. She studied the works of combat in and out as often as she could, to make sure she could always stay above other children who might’ve been fierce enough to defend themselves. She blossomed into a tough character, extorting and mugging for money to keep herself, above her family, afloat. But with age, came new learnings. She learned of the common hatred for dark elves, the stereotypes. She learned of the atrocities committed against her people, and how she was merely perpetuating the stereotype of a brutish, cunning thief. She noticed it, but she had no other choice. Her lifestyle was this way, and remained it. She would begin training as a underground pit fighter, excelling in martial weapons, most frontly in Glaives. She was excellent at exhausting an enemy, and keeping them at bay with her great stamina. She was quick and extremely coordinated aswell, allowing her success with such weaponry. When handed swords and axes, she would visible struggle, unless they matched the length of at least a shortspear. With bows, she could barely aim one. With her pitfighting she gained insight on how people fought, in one on ones or in multi-person duel arenas, she would fight and learn the ins and outs of intimate combat. This went on for a very long time, becoming a honed gladiator, a champion fighter. She would eventually be spotted by just the right people. She was hired into a mercenary company, given a Sergeant rank. Through the decades in service, she would never see promotion, but heavy usage as a competent warrior and leader. She was an excellent fighter, fearless, and knew how to stir the hearts of men. She was sent in service rather recently, her troops and herself participating in The Courland Rebellion. She fought with the rebel army, being crushed early on in the war by poor leadership and cowardice among her own ranks. She was taken prisoner instead of being killed fortunately enough. She faced internment, and was treated much harsher than other prisoners- the few that there were. Things she doesn’t speak about today happened there, staying imprisoned for quite some time- time she lost track of. She would be given freedom eventually by the mercy of a man she never got to know the name of- and went back to her homeland. It all came crashing down on her at once, realizing she had her new purpose. She craved leadership, she craved battle and power. She lusted for it. However, she found deep hatred in her now centuries old torment due to her race. She found it all aligned in one- she would make it her journey then to lead her race to earn the respect it so much deserves.

As a Mercenary

Illythia found herself fighting in battles from ~1575-1675 as a Mercenary as a for-hire mercenary. These wars included The Coalition War for The House of Staunton, The Czena Conflict for The War Nation of Krugmar, Atlas Coalition War, Bandit War for Renatus, Second Atlas Coalition War for The Dominion of Malin, and finally Third Atlas Coalition War for The Kingdom of Gladewynn, then joining as Renatus- ending her Mercenary Campaign.

Within Renatus

On Atlas, Illythia is known as a controversial figure within Renatus. She has been around since ~1690, within The Imperial Legion starting out as a footman under Marshal Brand von Denhardt. She would slowly, surely rise through the ranks after proving herself loyal to Renatus, despite the racial conflicts due to The Vizima Act and more within The Empire. She would prove celibate unless to a canonist elf of The Empire, which would never come. Illythia quietly would battle her struggles of ostracizing and lonliness within Renatus, before befriending four figures within The Imperial Legion. Rozmeo Kastrovat, Aldis Chase, Seth Renault, and Uthred Gromach. She got along well with the four and would often do what she could to make friends with such, and earn their trust. She would rise to the rank of Ensign before the resignation of Ser Seth Renault as he left for Aeldin. Illythia would be seen notably enforcing law around Carolustadt alongside other cities of The Empire, primarily Adria, where she would find herself as a prominent figure during The Gentleman's War. Much about Illythia is unknown, particularly her personal life and heritage.

On Arcas, Illythia slowed through The Legion as a trusted advisor and member of Renatus. She would often spend time out along Imperial Vassals and other nations, building a hefty list of a dozen few contacts that would tell her info she needed before it hit the mainstream. She was assigned the rank of Elven Diplomat by Antonius I and would conduct meetings between His Majesty, herself, and any Elven leader to conduct talks, if not done herself. Primarily with Aegrothond and Vira'ker, two nations often at odds with The Empire. She would raise to Colonel, and eventually unto General within The Imperial Legion, busying herself with whatever The Grand Marshal may have ordered. She would find herself in love and married with an Adrian thought to be a Norlander, then eventually revealed to be a wood elf, Ailduin Elverhilin. The two courted before and after The Bloody Court and would marry in 1710. Ailduin would go on to be ennobled within Haense after being Knighted, unofficially. He was granted a large portion of land directly north of Reza and Helena, which Illythia would come to posession of. Eventually, in 1718 in the midst of The War of Two Emperors, she would be granted Grand Marshal by Ser Rozmeo Kastrovat and Godfrey III.
