The House of Galbraith is the current ruling house of the Barony of Rivia of the Holy Orenian Empire. Many notable politicians and soldiers from the Empire are members of this house.

History

The House of Galbraith is an Orenian family originating from Kaedrin. The family emigrated to the Capital City of Helena in the year of 1745. Since their emigration, the house has been working hard and started to receive recognition from the Imperial Crown for their hard work, particularly in the Imperial Government. The family had a lot of members in various parts of the Government such as: the interior, the treasury, the justice system, and legislation. The House members worked diligently and got two members to join the Imperial Cabinet, and one in the Imperial Diet. However, due to growing discontent of Sir Edward publicly and in the Cabinet after two impeachment inquiries, in the year 1781, Sir Edward's wife wrote a letter to him on behalf of herself and the rest of the family, disassociating them from him, through excommunicating him from the family [1]. Though, Sir Edward still refused to acknowledge George Galbraith as the head. Thus, even though Sir Edward has been isolated from the family, he still bears the family name.

Notable Figures

Sir George Galbraith - George became the Head of House Galbraith after the family decided to no longer associated with the previous Head, Sir Edward. George was the Secretary of the Treasury and a Member of the House of Commons, within the Imperial Diet. Curator of the Imperial Industry Agency. After George served nearly a decade as Secretary of the Treasury under the Basrid and Elendil Ministry, he stepped down from the position in 1787. Whilst currently serving in the House of Commons, George was elected as President of the House of Commons for the 19th Imperial Diet, and shortly re-elected as the current President of the 20th iteration of the House of Commons. During an initial Josephite majority in the 21st Imperial diet under Archchancellor Sarkozy, Galbraith briefly served as Imperial Vice-Chancellor. However, after the incapacitation of Representative Dimitri Orlov, leading to a split commons and the Revolution of 1800 [2] in the Diet, Galbraith stepped down to Home Secretary after the formation of a coalition government under the Sarkozy Ministry. In 1809, Joseph II, Holy Orenian Emperor knighted George.

Sir Edward Galbraith - Edward Galbraith founded House Galbraith, bringing it from Kaedrin to Helena to better give his family a chance to make a name for themselves in the world. Soon after his arrival to the imperial capital, he was appointed Secretary of the Interior under the Basrid Ministry. His work caused him to work tirelessly through many nights but his sacrifices were not for nothing. For his diligent & faithful service to the crown, he was awarded a plot of land outside of Kaedrin where he and his brethren could establish their own personal estate. Along with his newfound land, Peter III, Emperor of The Holy Orenian Empire had him knighted, giving him the title of Sir. When the Stahl-Elendil Ministry replaced the Basrid Ministry, Sir Edward Galbraith was replaced by Padraig O'Rourke, another man from Kaedrin. However, Edwards's deeds & notable quality of work were not forgotten. Therefore, he was made a Circut Justice at the behest of the imperial crown. He still serves as a Circut Justice to do this day, residing in the new imperial city of Providence.
