The Holy Orenian Empire, or simply Oren, is the largest and most powerful nation of humans or of any race upon the continent of Vailor, and historically any past worlds as well. It was founded by the Exalted Godfrey, also known as Godfrey I, from whom the current Holy Orenian Emperor, John III, descends his claim. Its capital is the city of Felsen, and it adheres to the Church of the Canon as a state religion.

The language of the lands of the Holy Orenian Empire has always been Common, however High Imperial is often employed in official documents and among the bureaucracy and nobility, as well as in other parts of society with great Aeldinic influence. The current empire is in its fifth incarnation, known as the Fifth Empire to modern historians. The symbol of the Empire is the Horenic Dragon, with such motifs being employed in many of its standards and banners.

Culture and society

The Holy Orenian Empire’s society is a tiny bit based around King Horen, but mainly around Canonism. They take beliefs that there is a singular creator, which is also the name of their god. Their culture doesn’t take kindly to people who don’t follow their ways, they will also try to spread their religion as much as possible. Not only do they socialize by their religion, they also do it with the first born human, Horen. Horen was the first to preach about the religion Canonism. He was seen as a prophet and saint of his religion as well.

Their culture changes from the places where you live. They are mainly generic humans in the seventeen hundreds. Most girls dream about becoming noble women, who their fathers apply to make them. Once they become a woman they might get a small job to make money, but most set out to wed a man to have a family with. After this is done, they keep the house tidy and feed the children. Most boys train to become a squire or learn the profession of their father. They’ll either be taught to fight or craft. When they grow up few men set out to make a shop of their own, while most take arms and join the guard or the army.
