Prince Godfrey Renault (Savoyard: Godfroy) was the firstborn son to Prince Leufroy Renault, son of Olivier I of Savoy, and his wife Caterina Helane.

Early Life

Born as Godfrey Renault de Savoie-Lewes, he would squire under Sir Edmond de Rouen and tutor under his grandfather, Olivier I of Savoy. He was described as a callous youth, although he found acceptable friendship with his kin. Godfrey participated in an attempted coup led by his father, Prince Leufroy, House Savoie-Lewes fleeing to Oren shortly after. In the coming years, and the disappearance of his father, he continued his studies with Ser Edmond, participating in the Siege of Southbridge at eight years old, and later the Siege of Haverlock. In 1857, Godfrey traveled to the Principality of Savoy with an escort of two guards, only to be promptly arrested outside of San Luciano on the foundation of Savoie-Lewes' exile which remained from Olivier II, Prince of Savoy's reign. After deliberation between both Lucien and Godfrey, the families' exiled status was dismissed and Godfrey was released shortly after.

Return to Oren

With the assumed death of his father and two sisters, Godfrey relocated house Savoie-Lewes in the Holy Orenian Empire, taking up a position as castellan to a childhood friend, Prince Frederick Charles Novellen.
