Fought on the 7th of the Grand Harvest, on the 64th year of the Second Age, the Siege of Haverlock was the deciding battle for the reconquest of Lower Petra in the Urguani-Orenian War. After three days, the Imperial Alliance was able to secure Haverlock and force the remaining Triparite soldiers to retreat back into Urguani territory. While much of the city was still intact after the conquest, the Imperial Alliance proceeded to raze the city a year after the conclusion of the siege.

Prelude

Following the Battle of Lower Petra, the Imperial Alliance Army Group Center, despite taking numerous casualties, continued their march south to the city of Haverlock. Upon reaching the city late into the 63rd year, an Imperial siege camp was constructed north of the city. While a camp was built, the Imperial Alliance would not launch an attack for another year. During this year period, both combatants sent for reinforcements for the upcoming siege. The alliance was reinforced by an additional 9,600 units while the coalition was reinforced by an additional 12,600 units from their respective cities. Nearing the middle of the 64th year of the Second Age, Imperial forces decided to launch a large-scale assault on Haverlock on the 7th of the Grand Harvest.

"To the city’s northside lay the Imperial Siege Camp. It bustled as men and women of the Imperial State Army set to the task of tending to their siegeworks. Ditches were dug, latrines made, and armaments tended to, they numbered fourteen thousand and eighty men. Opposite the field were the city walls belonging to the squatters of Haverlock. Atop the battlements crawled the forces of the Coalition, numbering around twelve thousand and eighty men. Hugo van Aert, the Field Marshal of the Imperial Forces cried out and let loose the payload that now slammed into the already crumbling walls of Haverlock." - An excerpt from The Sacking of Haverlock by Arn van Aert.

Battle

Aftermath

After being ordered to withdraw from Haverlock, the Tripartite forces retread out of Lower Perta. The Imperial Alliance had claimed victory and immediately occupied Lower Petra. Several infantry divisions of the alliance sack homes before departing the city to secure the other regions of Lower Petra such as the County of Yves (a Sedanian holding on the eastern coast) and the ruins of Southbridge. Following the securing of their regained borders, Imperial command began preparations for the eventually razing of Haverlock.
