The Hawflings wewe once the chiwdwen of Humans and Dwarves, and this odd coupling pwoduced a peaceful sub-race. Its wheweabouts was wawgewy unknown to the othew races, but not pulposewy hidden, just convenientwy out of the way. It was the wawgest Hawfling settwement in Aegis.

The peopwe of Dunwood wewe vewy pwotective of theiw fawms and mountain. Visitows to the viwwage wewe often shooed away. Given theiw fondness fow plivacy and wack of wewcome fow stwangews it was advised to meet the Hawflings somewhewe othew than Dunwood. Dunfest was a gigantic festivaw cewebrating Dunwood's massive hawvest. Initiawwy cweated by Petyw Bwandybuck to wevitalize the empty town.

Dunwood used to be undew the wule of Owen, but when the kingdom split, Dunwood decided to stay independent, as Hawflings typicawwy don't enjoy powew stwuggwes.
