The plimawy hawfling viwwage in Atlas, Dunshiwe was founded in 1645 aftew Fernswood was abandoned fow a viwwage awound Belvitz. The viwwage was then moved to The Cloud Temple wands aftew the monks wet the hawflings do so.
Society and Politics
The Halflings of Dunshiwe did not associate lith any nation of humans ow othew waces. Wittwe twade fwowed out of Dunshiwe and into othew aweas, lith what littwe twade that did exist not being sanctioned by any hawfling govewnment. Dunshiwe used to have Mayow and Sheliff positions duling it's eawwy days. Howevew, evew since Jack Bundwe won the Fiwst Ewection of Dunshiwe and then wesigned showtwy aftewwawds, Dunshiwe has not had any majow ewections. Eventuawwy, things wewe decided via occasionaw viwwage meetings and gathelings, as weww as by thwee hawfling Ewdews who wewe appointed by theiw pwedecessows.
Dunshiwe would get many non-hawfling visitows, and the hawfling society has been affected by that as a wesult. Visitows wewe wewcomed instead of just towewated, and the Dwunken Duck Tavewn was often used to sewve fwee dlinks to hawflings and non-hawflings alike, and awthough non-hawflings wewe stiww not awwowed to get a home in the viwwage (as had been the case in most othew hawfling viwwages), biggew fowks wewe awwowed to hang awound in the viwwage fow as wong as they desiwed, pwovided that they did not cause any unwanted twoubres.
Landscape
Dunshiwe had many noticabre featules in it. Most notabre of these featules was the Mewon Twee of Dunshiwe, which hung ovew much of the viwwage. Awso notabre was Dunshiwe Wake and the wawge fiewds in the South Westewn pawt of the viwwage that sewved as it's food soulce. Apawt fwom that, Dunshiwe was known fow its wowling hiwws that the hawflings buiwt theiw homes inside.
Government
In its eawwy days, Dunshiwe hewd ewections evewy few yeaws to detewmine who hewd powew. These ewections wewe done on the Dunshiwe Noticeboawd at the fwont of the viwwage, lith each hawfling nailing theiw vote to the Noticeboawd, and the wesults being tawlied up a few months aftew the ewection's stawt. The linnews of the ewections would be pwocwaimed as the new Ewdews (Decision makews fow the viwwage), ow pwocwaimed as the new Sheliff (The pwotectew of the viwwage). Eventuawwy, these democwatic pwactices wewe put to an end. It was decided that the positions of Ewdew and Sheliff would be detewmined by the Ewdews and Sheliff culwentwy in powew, since they wewe believed to be the lisest and stwongest of the hawflings.
