Daibhidh MacFhilib Sutharlainn, 1st Jarl of Rathonia, known as Daibhidh Sutharlainn until year 53 S.A., is a Norlandic peer from Clan Sutherland. He was also the 3rd Baronet of Sutherland, 2nd Baron of Helmsdale and 7th Baronet of Dunbar as an Agnethe peer. The title of 1st Jarl of Rathonia was granted to him by King Ragnavald of Norland as part of the South Dunbar Agreement (53 S.A.).

Family

Daibhidh Sutharlainn is the son of Filib MacMhàirtinn Sutharlainn and the grandson of Màirtinn Sutharlainn. His mother was Màiri Suthar-Barrach. He was bought up with his sister Catroìna Sutharlainn, in Sutherland by his parents before moving south to the Duchy of Elysium in year 9 S.A., founding the Sutherland Trading Company with his sister. Despite not having a formal marriage, he had a son and a daughter, Dùghlas Sutharlainn, who inherited his titles, and Sìonag Sutharlainn.

Career

Daibhidh has been known to work “non-stop”, as his friends and family described him. He has created many entities that still have a significant influence at the local and sometimes international level, such as the Jarldom, and later the United Provinces of Dùnrath.

In the year 12 S.A., he created the Sutherland Trading Company, which mainly sold products such as Suther Whisky and Glassware. The company have moved locations several times from Elysium, the Rhein, Norland, and then settled at the lands of Rathonia. The company was inherited by Sìonag Sutharlainn upon his death.

In the year 42 S.A., he successfully stroked a deal with King Vane of Norland and purchased a plot of land by the lakeside of Loch Fiag in the Lovland region. It grew over the years from 2,5 Acres to 62 Acres, spreading over the Lovland, Svealand, Tulipa and Kristianstad regions. The land is nowadays the United Provinces of Dùnrath, home of roughly 3.000 residents and its capital Dun’avi was once the second largest city of Norland before citizens were called to move into Norraberget.
