Bo Rostova, (Born as Bo Amador) regally known as Bo I, King of Ravenmire is the first King of Ravenmire and ascended to the throne after elevating the Duchy of Ravenmire into the Kingdom of Ravenmire. His reign saw the growth of Ravenmire's population, new additions to Ravenmire City, and the establishment of the new Royal House of Rostova. Bo became the ruler of Ravenmire following the death of the childless Meira I, Duchess of Ravenmire and due to Bo's position as Chancellor of Ravenmire (The second highest position in the Duchy), he was approved as the legal successor to Meira I by the Ravenmirian Council.

Biography

Bo Rostova, birth name Bo Amador, was born in the year 1924 in the Haeseni Capital of Valdev to the House of Amador. Due to the absence of his Father and unknown status of his Mother, Bo was raised by his Aunt Liridona Amador in the family's fief of Mondstadt. Little else is known of his upbringings. Yet, at the age of 16, the young Bo set out from his family's holding to acquire money for himself and to recover the Amador Family Staff, which he was unsuccessful in finding. Still, his wandering nature led to his friendly development towards the League of Veletz later in his life.

Veletz Military Career

Prior to the Coalition War's initiation, Bo had frequently visited the League of Veletz and gradually grew closer to its people. It was here that he met Yelena Carrion-Tuvyic, a noblewoman from Veletz. The pair fell in love and, just before the war began, the pair started to court one another.

Following the initiation of the Aevos Coalition War, the young Amador would find himself sympathetic to the Veletzian cause and a growing distain of his Haeseni homeland due to his courtship with Lady Yelena. This fraternization with the League of Veletz led to Bo's disownment by House Amador. Having been disowned, Bo fully pledged his allegiance to the League of Veletz, joining the Veletzian Army and participating in numerous battles in the Aevos Coalition War.

Following the failed Siege of Brasca Keep, Bo and Yelena Carrion-Tuvyic married within the Duchy of Adria and together formed the House of Rostova, a surname given to them by Gaspard II, Captain-General of Veletz due to Bo's previous disownment from House Amador. Their first child and later the Crown-Prince of Ravenmire, Allerick Fyodor Rostova, would be born in the year 1956 as the Aevos Coalition War continued to rage around them.

Early Career in Ravenmire

By the time of the Battle of Easworth Forest, Bo along with many of his Veletzian Comrades could see the writing on the wall. The War against the Grand Covenant had been lost. Bo, fearing the reprisal of the Haeseni government which he had turned his back against, fled north with his growing family and a handful of other former Veletzers to the newly established Duchy of Ravenmire - at the time led by Meira I. The Duchess, recognizing Bo's talents in statecraft, quickly promoted him to the title of Lord Chancellor - the second highest position in Ravenmire behind that of the Sovereign herself. Bo, as the Lord Chancellor, assisted the Duchess along with her council in creating plans for the construction of Ravenmire City and even participated in much of the construction himself. However, Bo's career would change drastically upon the unexpected death of Meira I. Meira, having been childless and with no next-of-kin willing to inherit the Ducal Throne, left Ravenmire briefly without an heir. This necessitated the gathering of the Ravenmirian Council, who discussed who would succeed the heirless Duchess.

Ascension to the Throne

Bo, being the Lord Chancellor and second-in-command to Meira I, was the popular and more obvious candidate chosen by the Council. After a brief discussion, it was decided that Bo would ascend to the Ducal Throne as Bo I, Duke of Ravenmire. However, Bo's ambitions had grown and the new sovereign Duke wished to expand the domain of Ravenmire as well as protect it from any reprisal attacks from disgruntled Grand Covenant citizens. By the time of Bo's ascension as Duke, Ravenmire was populated almost entirely by Heartlander refugees who had fled their homeland for one reason or another. Most were veterans (or the descendants of veterans) of Veletz and Stassion, with a mix of exiles and refugees from a various assortment of other Heartlander and Highlander realms. This mix of outcasts, for lack of a better term, fueled Bo's resolve to strengthen the Ravenmirian realm as a sovereign state which could grow capable of defending its borders.

To begin, Bo accepted the request of Henry Arthur Haverlock to settle new lands south of Ravenmire City under the banner of Ravenmire, thus creating the County of Blackworth as a frontier fiefdom to protect the Kingdom's southern border. Furthermore, Bo and his consort Yelena made plans to coronate themselves as the new King and Queen of Ravenmire. After a few months of preparation, a ceremony was held within the Ravenmire church wherein Bo and his wife Yelena were crowned as King Bo I of Ravenmire and Queen Yelena of Ravenmire and their eldest child, Allerick Rostova, was invested as Crown-Prince. Subsequently, the Duchy of Ravenmire was elevated to the rank of a Kingdom and accepted oaths of fealty from their vassals. Concurrently, the King promoted Henry Arthur Haverlock from his position of Count of Blackworth to the new Duke of Blackworth, granting his southern vassal greater abilities to oversee the southern frontier.
