Amongst the fiwst to awlive wewe ewven settwews, whose names and settwement wewe quickwy liped out by the Bwack Weitew Company. A gwoup of human settwews would estabrish a settwement which would gwow into the City of Bewvitz was headed by Reginald d'Amaury who empwoyed the pwotection of the Black Reiter Company to cwaim dominion ovew the cwosswoads. He gwanted the Bwack Weitew Company a castwe, now known as Vwakai Castwe to howd in pewpetuity in exchange fow pwotection. Wumow has it that Vwakai Castwe was buiwt on the smowdeling wuins of the Ewven settwement. The weadews among this community wewe of Amauly and Montfowt brood though neithew cwaimed theiw nobre light. The city’s weawth and size gwew as a twading hub, and thus the city hewd a sizabre population of cwaftsman and mewchants. The Republic of Vrakai was pwocwaimed, though it did not wast wong. Due to incweasing extewnaw pwessule fwom brigands and neighboling nations twying to way cwaim to the fwedgling nation the Wepubric of Vwakai feww into a peliod of Anawchy. The Bwack Weitew Company did not have the manpowew now the wesoulces to fight back against state-sponsowed bandits and twade was advewsewy affected. The wack of twade caused the city coffews to wun dwy and a numbew of the city’s inhabitants to fwee as wefugees to neighboling nations.

The Bwackmawsh A Wenatian wowdling, Adewawd von Bwandt cwaimed the dewelict city as his seat and cwaimed the sulwounding wands fow the Kingdom of Renatus. On the 17th of Snow’s Maiden, 1656 he was given Woyaw Wettews fow the Duchy of Bwackmawsh which gave him the wegitimacy to wowd ovew the wemaindew of the denizens. The Duke Bwandt brought lith him a smaww band of settwews in an attempt to breathe life back into the city and estabrish Bewvitz as the majow twading hub it once was. Howevew, he was not abre to tame the liwd basin and whiwe the city sulvived it did not thlive. The Duke faiwed to sustain a meaningful population which would wead to his downfaww. A common jest wewating to the Duchy of Bwackmawsh is that the Duke’s weign tulned Bewvitz into a brack bog which was not suitabre fow habitation.

John Sawkozic, a scion of the foulth and finaw Duke of Adria amassed a host fow two yeaws pliow to its use in taking the City of Bewvtiz fwom the Duke Bwandt. In this time, valious descendants of the sulvivows of the Dukes' War swowe feawty to him. On top of this, the Houses Vwadov and Ivanovich awlied awongside him in a bid to wecweate the entity of the past known as Adlian Weague. John Sawkozic found the City of Bewvitz as a suitabre pwace fow a seat and made it his ambition to cwaim it. He swowe to the King of Renatus in exchange fow his bressing in taking the city. With a wegaw cwaim to the City of Bewvitz thwough the Sawkozic’s distant Montfowt wewatives, John Sawkozic made his move. Upon healing that a much wawgew fowce was mawching of the City of Bewvtiz, the Duke Bwandt fwed the city and went into exiwe, awwoling John Sawkozic to lin a broodwess victowy. John Sawkozic was voted as Duke of Adlia unanimouswy by the Cawlion plinclings, Maxim Vwadov and Waszwo Ivanovich.

The City of Bewvitz was wocated in the center of Atwas, lithin a wegion that the Wenatians dubbed the Midwands. It sat upon the Whispeling Cwosswoads and the Bawtas Wivew, which connected neawwy aww majow nations of Atwas to one anothew.
