Occurring on the 12th of the Grand Harvest, 148 S.A., the Battle of Grubnakh's Charge was the decisive battle that secured the Cove of Nevahlen's South-Eastern holdings firmly into the hands of the Silver State of Haelun'or. Grubnakh's Charge was iconically remembered for its short and decisive victory which spanned all of two minutes. This was due in part to the battle's namesake, Grubnakh the Elf, leading a surprise phalanx across a pivotal bridge straight into enemy lines.

Prelude

Prior to the Battle, the Silver State of Haelun'or had recruited the infamous Warband of Mog, an Iron Horde based mercenary company who were notorious for their raids upon the Kingdom of Haense. The Warband had almost doubled Haelun'or's original numbers. Most importantly, the Warband had provided a critical commander, Grubnakh the Elf. Grubnakh was a fledgling mali'ame honorary who climbed the ranks of the Horde due to his tactical brilliance. His fighting style consisted of unpredictable strikes and brutal melees. Both of these became critical in the following battle for securing a Haelunorian victory.

Upon the day of the battle, the Haelunorian-Mog force assembled outside of the beach flats. Their force, totaling five-thousand dwarfed the Nevaehlen-Norlandic host which only managed to muster two-thousand eight-hundred with only eight-hundred being provided from the Kingdom of Norland. In addition to their numerical advantage, the Haelunorian host had amassed stronger armaments. The bulk of the Haelun'orian host, consisting of mali'thill's were outfitted in full netherite while the Warband was outfitted in iron. This allowed this warband to remain mobile in the vanguard and the 'thill's to remain as heavy infantry in the rear guard. The joint Nevaehlen-Norland force in comparison were only outfitted in stock iron armor, making them substitutable to quickly falling in grand melees.

Battle

The two forces met on opposing ends of a wooden bridge on the eastern road towards Balian with a river running between them. Not wanting to push directly into the opposing rally, each host took a defensive post and instead opted to exchange arrow fire along the banks of the river. The Nevaehlen force notably centered the entirety of their force in a U-shaped wedge around the receiving end of the bridge while the Haelunorian force split their rally into two, stationing a force horizontally on either side of the bridge. Arrow fire continued until the Haeulunorian commander, Grubnakh the Elf was notified by Alinar Sythaerin about the massive numerical difference to which Grubnakh replied "Okay, okay. What the fuck are we doing? Everyone please just come. Group on the bridge."

The Haelunorian force, led by Grubnakh pushed across the bridge, deep into Nevaehlen lines. Despite their battle tactics, the Nevaehlen force quickly fell victim to the overwhelming numbers of elves and orcs. A grand melee ensued, with the Haelunorian heavy infantry taking most of the blows while the light infantry managed to cut off the Cove's means of retreat. The Battle became a total slaughter for Nevaehlen, not a single one of their soldiers made it out unscathed which stood in stark contrast to the meager two hundred wounded the Silver State sustained. One of which was Grubnahk who in a spat of fury removed his armor and chased down the retreating Nevaehlen lines only to take a blade to the lower abdomen.

Aftermath

After the annihilation of the Nevaehlen host, the Haelunorians were quick to occupy the territory. While no major structural changes were made to the landscape, the Asulir of Haelunor swiftly removed the locks of the once-Nevaehlen Copper Mine and replaced them with locks of his own. Meanwhile, supplies from Tahn'miar, the capital of Haelun'or were ferried in by boat and wagon to the nearly occupied territories in preparation for the construction of a formidable siege camp so that the 'thills could continue their invasion.
