Prelude

Prior to the initiation of the Battle, a warband under the command of Durorn Ireheart had received word of a party being hosted by the Municipality of Ephesius, an Imperial Elven settlement. The hatred of Imperial Elves, combined with the want to kick off the war with an Urguani victory, prompted Durorn and Count Gaspard to rally his warband and make for Ephesius. Unbeknownst to them, the event was heavily guarded with some 2,000 Imperial State Soldiers being stationed in the town. These Soldiers, under the command of General Erik var Ruthern, were mostly Imperial Elves local to Ephesius and knew the terrain well.
