Culture
House Mösu's culture is characterized by a resolute spirit forged in the harsh, snow-covered landscapes of the north. Rooted in their Highland heritage, the Mösu people have cultivated a culture that values unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their ancestral legacy. This enduring culture is an integral part of their identity and touches every aspect of their lives.
- Notable Traditions & Costums
Comming of Age One of the most defining aspects of Mösu culture is the "Coming of Age" tradition. As young men and women transition into adulthood, they are challenged to prove their worthiness. For young men, this often means participating in daring trials by battle or embarking on treacherous polar bear hunts. These endeavors instill a sense of valor, resilience, and responsibility.
Adoption is no stranger to the house and nor will it ever be since it was used by the founder, Sir Ragnarr Mösu "Barbarossa", to strengthen the family and grow in numbers. The way that adoption is done in the house is different to how others might do it. While some just make sure the adopted bear the surname of the family, the Mösu House takes it abit further. Due to the fact that some are adopted in the family and are not Mösu by blood or flesh, those that are adopted shall cut their hand alongside the current head of the house, which is related to the founder, and shake eachothers hands to ensure that their blood is mixed and united. There are cases where one of the two parties or maybe both are struck down with sudden illness which can inturn lead to death. If the adopted dies from this illness then they shall not be considered a Mösu and seen as unworthy of the name. Meanwhile if the house head dies from this then it shall be seen as a sign that the "adopted" is a snake and unworthy yet again.
Saga Chronicles House Mösu maintains a cherished tradition of meticulously recording its history through sagas. Dedicated scribes and historians preserve the family's past, recounting significant events and heroic deeds with intricate artwork. These sagas serve as a source of inspiration and guidance, reinforcing the family's commitment to preserving its legacy for generations.
Martial Heritage House Mösu upholds a tradition of honor and dedication in their mercenary service through the Friedrichian Band. This legacy, born from generations of martial expertise, involves training young family members for a life of valor and chivalry. Joining the Friedrichian Band allows them to carry the Mösu name into foreign conflicts, demonstrating their commitment to upholding justice and preserving their heritage. This tradition signifies Mösu's unwavering commitment to noble ideals and their reputation for honor and bravery in the world of mercenaries.
Commerce Heritage House Mösu's tradition of commerce centers around their Mösu Trading Company. This legacy involves imparting knowledge and skills in trade, resource management, and negotiation to the younger generation. Apprenticeships within the family's trading ventures equip them with expertise to navigate the complexities of buying, selling, and handling valuable resources. Members who join the Mösu Trading Company embrace the family's legacy of prosperity, carrying its reputation for ethical business practices into the world of trade
