Sovereignty of Ravenmire
|
The Kingdom of Ravenmire, simply known as Ravenmire, is a predominantly Human nation situated in the Highlands of Aevos. It was founded by Meira I, though after her untimely demise the Duchy passed to a new Ducal House under Bo I, King of Ravensmire. Soon after, Bo would transform the Duchy into the Kingdom of Ravenmire, crowning himself as its first King and establishing House Rostova as the new Royal Dynasty.

Religion
The majority religion in Ravenmire is Canonism, though there are two primary sects present within the Nation. The Church of Aurelian, also known as Aurelianism, which believes the late Aurelius I, Emperor of Man to be an exhalted of the church (largely practiced in the western half of the nation), and the main sect of Canonism which holds true to the ideologies of the main church (largely practiced by the people of Blackworth in the south-east). However, due to the nation's proximity to Norland, a very small minority of citizens follow the Red Faith.
Politics
Military
The Military of the Kingdom is a largely decentralized affair. Both of the Kingdom's primary vassals (Blackworth and Rhosmark) bear their own sizeable levies. As for the Crownlands themselves, there is no official standing army under the command of the King as of yet. However, it is largely expected for citizens of the Crownlands to bear arms in the event of invasion or other external threats. It is, at this moment, largely up to the levies of the various vassals to enforce the laws of Ravenmire.
Succession
The Succession of Ravenmire is, as of the foundation of the Kingdom, is Absolute Primogeniture succession. The heir to the Kingdom, most often the firstborn child of the current ruler, takes the title of Crown-Prince/Princess as well as any other titles invested to them during their time as Crown-Prince/Princess.
Noble succession on the other hand, is dictated largely by the vassal lords themselves. However, similarly to the Crown itself, most vassals go by a similar Absolute Primogeniture succession. Such is the case with the Duchy of Blackworth and the March of Rhosmark.
Demographics
The Demographics of the nation are rather straightforward. The majority of the population, roughly 70-80%, are Heartlanders with many claiming heritage from Veletz, Stassion, or Sedan. As a result, Ravenmire is largely seen as a nation of refuge for those who have been exiled or do not wish to remain in the larger southern nations, as well as a melting pot of Heartlander cultures. The remaining 20-30% of inhabitants are a mix of Highlanders and Elves, with the Highlander minority being more numerous than the Elven one since the passing of Meira I, Duchess of Ravenmire.
