House Ruthern of Balian
|
House of Ruthern of Balian (Common: Ruthern; Raevir: Ruthovic; High Imperial: Rutenes) is a branch of House of Ruthern, having split off from their kin in the Kingdom of Haense to plant roots in the Holy Orenian Empire and then, after it's collapse, the Kingdom of Balian.
Originating as a bastard cadet branch of the senior line of the House of Carrion, Ruthern originally gained prominence under Exalted Sigismund and his succeeding Carrion monarchs: King Henry I and King Francis I.
House Loyalty
The proclaimed head of the Orenian Ruthern branch was given the titles Duke of Reutov and Count of Kositz within the Holy Orenian Empire. After the fall of the Holy Orenian Empire in the Brothers' War, this branch followed John I, King of Balian to form the Kingdom of Balian. They would eventually rise to become Counts of Marsana.
