Edmund II (Edmund Alexander Alstion; born 25 Horen's Calling 1933) is King of the United Kingdom of Aaun and is the only son of Prince Henry Alstion and Adela of High Peak.
Early life
Born in the summer of 1933, Edmund was at birth the second-in-line to his grandfathers United Kingdom, after his father Henry. He was the first child of Prince Henry, Lord of Alba, and Adela, Lady of Alba. He was baptised hours after his birth in a ceremony held by the Bishop of Buron, attended by his mother and some members of her household, in the Temple of Exalted Godfrey. Edmund's parents did not make a habit of showing off their newborn son, and so for the first three years of his he was a relatively minor prince.
Prince Henry died on the 7th of Owen's Flame 1935 and Edmund, aged two, immediately became heir apparent. From precedent during the reign of Charles, the heir assumes the title of Lord of Alba. James was, by this point, frequently maladious and growing increasingly inert. His advanced age precipitated a general acceptance in the United Kingdom of an approaching succession.
James died on the 6th of Harren's Folly 1937 at the age of 67. Edmund acceded to the throne as Edmund II. He was the shortest-serving Aaunic heir apparent, and became the third King of the United Kingdom.
Education
Adela, now Queen-Mother and Governess of the Kings Person, decided that Edmund should be educated by a group of tutors rather than just the one. He spent his formal education in the classics, law, philosophy, and theology.
There were complaints, by the time Edmund was eight, that not enough of the King's formal education consisted of martial matters. In response, the Palace announced that Sir Gawyn Tiber, who was then Grand Master of the Royal Circle of Saint Godwin, would be his instructor.
