Andrew Staunton was the youngest son of Duke Richard of Courland, and was notable for his short one year reign as the third Duke of Courland, before his brother, Alexander, took over following Andrew's suicide. He had one son, Aleksi Staunton, who died childless at the age of 22 from consumption. He is regarded as widely controversial for revoking the Barony of Nicea (formerly Kraken's Watch), giving it to the oldest enemy of House Staunton, House Vanir, before his death.
