Prelude

The Hyspian-Bandit war was a minor conflict between the Kingdom of Hyspia and several small bandit groups. The war began after Cesar declared an outright war on banditry after an inconsequential raid on Tierre Natal by an unknown bandit group. The main goal of the Hyspians was to eradicate Banditry within its borders and to expand its sphere of influence over the smaller settlements nearby.

Major Confrontations

Timeline

  • 1790:
    • The Kingdom of Hyspia declares war against all wildlander bandit groups in order to secure control of it's own domain and expand it sphere of influence in the Wildlands.
  • 1791:
    • The Hyspian Monarchist Army is formed by King Cesar, and command is given to Juan Mendez in order to bolster the Army's ranks and supplies.
    • The Hyspian Monarchist Army encounters a force of bandits just a mile outside the walls of Tierre Natal, and a small battle ensues known as the Battle outside Tierre Natal. The Hyspian Army easily brushes aside the bandit army, and slaughters most of the combatants with minor casualties.
  • 1793
    • During a diplomatic mission to Norland, Tierre Natal is raided by a force of Bandits who attacked while the Army was escorting King Cesar from Norland. The Army returns in time to drive the Bandits away, but the battle is strategically a Bandit victory.
    • Cesar I orders Juan Mendez to begin preparations for an expedition, only for Juan to die in a duel. Juan's son, Carlos, is given command.
  • 1794
    • The Hyspian Monarchist Army departs Tierre Natal to search the Wildlands for any bandit outposts, this lasts for about two months. Minor skirmishes are fought during the Expedition, and the expedition is overall considered a victory
    • After encountering what they believe to be a bandit outpost, the Army is brought back to Tierre Natal in order to report to King Cesar. He therefore orders preparations to begin for a raid
