The Battle outside Tierre Natal was the first recorded battle between the forces of Hyspia and a sizeable bandit force. It ended with the defeat of the Bandit force and the shattering of their cohesion.

Prelude

King Cesar had gotten reports from Scouts that a bandit army had assembled and made camp only a mile away from the Capital. With this information, Cesar ordered his Hand of the Crown, Juan Mendez, to march on the bandit force with the Hyspian Monarchist Army. Juan took a month to prepare by gathering more volunteers into the army, and making sure the army was properly equipped. After doing so, he led the Army outside of Tierre Natal to face the bandits in what would be the bloodiest conflict of the war so far.

The Battle

Juan Mendez had marched his army north in order to face the bandits, and found that the Bandit Army had established a small war camp. Bandit sentries quickly warned the camp of the Hyspian approach, and many of the bandits rushed to the front of the camp to face the numerically superior Hyspian army. Juan used his numerical advantage to try and surround the camp, but the Bandits charged forward into the Hyspian ranks. This temporarily stopped the Hyspian army's advance, and the two sides were locked in combat. Juan decided to send a detachment of 1,000 infantry around and hit the bandits from the sides. This maneuver worked, and the Bandits were forced back into their camp.

The Bandits took up defensive positions inside the camp, expecting the Hyspians to go in after them. Instead, Juan ordered archers to fire several volleys into the camp. The arrows tore through the bandit defences, leaving them vulnerable to an infantry attack. Juan exploited this vulnerability, and sent the rest of his forces in to finish the bandit forces. The Bandit's cohesion broke, and they fled in all directions. The battle was a Hyspian victory

Aftermath

In the immediate aftermath, Juan ordered the bandit camp looted and destroyed to prevent bandits from returning and reoccupying the camp. The Hyspians were unable to capture any important figures, and so they simply took the prisoners they had and returned to Tierre Natal to report their victory to the King.
