Valkyrian

The Valkyrian religion is based around the belief that all races should live together and was brought to the attention of the world after the rise of New Dawn in Asulon.

Members of the Valkyrian religion believe that all races are equal to each other and should live together in peace without the need for war to break out between them. Many people see members of this religion as evil due to their methods of completing the goals of their Goddess (Nyaja) because they usually resort to killing people who do not agree with them or follow their orders. Only a selected few members of the religion are able to hear the words of the Goddess and these members are known as Speakers due to the fact that they speak on behalf of the Goddess who is unable to speak to all of her followers.

Members of this religion can be of any race and a few of them are given gifts by the Goddess so that they may change the future so that bad things can be stopped before they happen, so far the only member of this religion who has used their gift in public is Kimarai Nastrada and he used it during the war in Salvus against the Twilight Army, due to his vision the Twilight Army won the war and he was rewarded by the leader of the Twilight Army for his actions and for helping them to win the war by using his gift to see where everybody would be waiting for them.

The Story Of Creation:

In the beginning when the Aenguls and Daemons roamed our world another Goddess was also working on creating life. In a world similar to our own the Goddess Nyaja created a race of elf like creatures which she named Valkyrians due to the fact that the world they lived in was called Valkyru. These creatures were each given a single gift at birth which would improve the way they live. These gifts however corrupted the minds of the Valkyrians and forced them into civil war, in this war there were 3 sides, the Secorian Conglomorate who saw that it was best to use their gifts all the time, the Asarian Alliance who believed that their gifts must never be used and that they were just a test to see who was strong enough to ascend, and finally the Order of Vaktovia who believed that their gifts must only be used to gain enlightenment so that they may one day ascend. This war raged on for many centuries but Nyaja would not step in to stop the fighting for she wanted to let her creations make their own choices. It was only when the Order of Vaktovia entered her realm and requested that she end all the fighting that Nyaja opened a rift and pulled Valkyru into her realm, once Valkyru was in her realm she took the form of a dragon and spoke to her creations in a language that not even they could understand but somehow they knew exactly what she was saying and in that moment dropped their weapons and gave their gifts back to Nyaja. She spoke once more this time in the Valkyrian tongue "Vok lu anes cosure san lek nai" These words have yet to be translated properly into our common tongue but it is believed to be a prophecy saying that some day a group of mortals would be given the gifts and unite everyone. Nyaja realised that now that her creations no longer had their gifts the world needed more creatures to look after it and created beings with horns and tails which she brought to life with water from the Well of Al'Saer. These new creatures knew no purpose and had no knowledge of the war or anything before their creation and were forbidden from knowing such information. Nyaja did not speak to the new creatures and did not allow them to see her. She left the Valkyrians in charge of the new creatures and returned to her throne to observe them but never to involve herself in their lives. The Valkyrians decided that instead of leaving these creatures nameless they would also be called Valkyrians so that it was no longer the name of a race but the name of all who inhabit Valkyru. The Valkyrian Elves taught the creatures how to farm and cook and how to live normal lives, they never gifted them knowledge that would allow them to become corrupt, they did not teach them about politics or religion, they only taught them what they would need to live. For centuries life was peaceful in Valkyru and the Valkyrian Elves ruled over the Alerians as they were now known, that was until one day one of the Valkyrian Elves decided to preach tales of the war to the Alerians which caused the Alerians to panic as they had never known of war or hatred, Nyaja saw this panic and appeared in the form of the dragon and spoke in common tongue to the races of Valkyru "I warned you all to never speak of the past to my new creations, you have broken my only rule that i gave you and now i must punish you, bring forth the one who taught this knowledge to my new creations" Within less than a minute there were a group of Valkyrian Elves restraining one of their own kind infront of Nyaja, this Elf was a member of the old Secorian Conglomorate. Nyaja looked down at this Elf and ordered her creations to release her "I gave you but a single rule and you broke it, other than this one rule you had complete freedom to live as you wanted, i didn't want to have to appear before you again but you have left me no choice" In this moment she took the elf into her mouth and swallowed her and then looked around at her creations before taking the form of a young elven girl. She walked around through the crowds of people and then spoke to them all "On this day i was forced to destroy one of my own creations because they broke my rule, i will not allow this to happen again and to make sure it doesn't ever happen again i am banishing you all from my realm, i am also taking away your ability to draw power from my realm" With that she opened another rift like she had done centuries ago and sent the Elves and Alerians into the void where they would be forced to find a new home. Before closing the rift she spoke to them once more "When children who are pure of heart are born i shall bestow upon them the same gifts i bestowed upon you and they shall be my heroes and will be the key to you being able to return to my realm to be by my side for all of eternity" As her last words were spoken the rift closed and the Elves and Alerians were forced to roam the empty void for all eternity until they could find a new home to call their own. As time went by many rifts opened to new worlds which many stepped through and made their homes in. Only a small group of Valkyrians remained and they were beginning to lose hope and feared for the worst, but finally they came across a world that was perfect for them and all stepped through, leaving the void behind them. This new world was known as Aegis. The only problem with this new world was that once the Alerians stepped inside they were no longer visible to the Elves or anybody else other than themselves. They slowly began to change and started to take the form of the creatures who lived in Aegis and eventually learned to live among them. This is how we came to be.

Heroes: Heroes of the Valkyrian religion are scattered throughout time and the world in multiple families, they have many legends spoken about them and a few of them and their accomplishments are listed below: (Please note that many of the "heroes" of this religion were not all good, in fact most of them were evil at some point in time but that was all the more reason to become a hero)

Kimarai Nastrada: Best known for his victory in Salvus and being the ruler of Salvus, it has even been rumored him and the Elven princess Titania Hawksong conceived a child but whether or not it is true has yet to be known. He is also the first "Speaker" of the Valkyrian religion. Another one of his big accomplishments was returning the Holy Dwarven Anvil back to the Dwarves and thus forth was placed into the Dwarves hall of heroes. He was given the gift of foresight by the Goddess Nyaja when she deemed him worthy of being one of her heroes due to his actions in Valkyru in Asulon.

Mason Foster: He was originally found as a child on the streets of Oren and taken in by the Nastrada family and was raised as one of their Dwarven children, when he came of age he began to notice he was different as his ears were pointed and he was taller than his family. He left his home after being ordered to find safety by Kimarai Nastrada and Drakon Nastrada, he found his real family the Sezarius family who were Elves living in Malinor at the time. His family taught him how to perform magic that was believed to have been lost centuries ago with the death of the Frost Elf race. His family were eventually killed by Snow Elves from Fenn apart from his sister who took Mason under her wing. She eventually left him and went off into the wilderness leaving Mason incharge of a fallen city which he rebuilt and ruled for a short amount of time. After a few years incharge Mason stepped down and formed a guild known as the Crimson Blade whose mission was to protect the mortal races. Mason was granted the gift of Leadership from the Goddess Nyaja which made Mason a much better leader so that he could succeed in his mission.
