Rhys Vladrick var Ruthern was the eldest child and only son of Vladrick Var Ruthern and Margret Rykov. Following his fathers' disappearance at sea, Rhys became the eleventh Count of Metterden. As a reward for amassing a large levy, he was later given the Duchy of Vidaus in 1672. He was appointed as Lord Marshal under King Siguine I of Haense, and under his leadership as Marshal he would combine the Kingdom's levies into the Brotherhood of Saint Karl. In 1682, he abdicated all his titles to his grandson Demetrius var Ruthern III. Years later, he would step down as Lord Marshal and disappear during the flight to Arcas, believed to be dead at the hands of the Vaeyl.
