Lord Percival Staunton was an Imperial nobleman and former merchant, serving as Duke of Courland (formerly the Duchy of Vanaheim) from 1527 to 1537. Percival was originally the son of a wealthy wine merchant, residing in the Imperial city of Petrus. In 1493 he became the Baron of Eastbourne and served the role for many years, until the descendants travelled to the continent of Valior, where he became the Baron Fjordham. During the Duke's War Percival ascended to the rank of Count of Westmark, shortly after becoming the first Duke of Courland.
