Margot of Virdain (born Margot-Lucilla Amelie Ashford de Lewes on the 23rd of the Sun's Smile in the year 1933), also known as Margot-Lucilla Haverlock was an Aaunic noblewoman. She was the sixth and final child of Fernand, Baron of Virdain and his Vessian wife, Amelia of Varoche (also sometimes referred to as Amelia of Napoliza). At the age of thirty, Margot wed Robert Haverlock, Count of Talentine, elevating her to the status of Countess of Talentine and Baroness of Gotfridcher. Much like her mother before her, she grew up at the forefront of Aaunic society-- as her father was the Chancellor of Aaun for a considerable amount of time until he was succeeded by Johannes von Alstreim.

Biography

Childhood

Margot-Lucilla Amelie Ashford de Lewes (simply referred to as Margot) was born to Fernand, Baron of Virdain and his vessian wife, Amelia. She was born the sixth and final child of the couple in 1933.

As a child, Margot was educated in a nunnery in the neighboring Lemon Hill. She stayed there until her fifteenth year, after her parents enrolled her in St. Julia’s College for Young Women in 1948. There, Margot was educated in religion, homemaking, and being a generous hostess. Rarely did she ever live in her family’s manor, Cors-Midden. In fact, Margot would’ve likely only been at the château for holidays. She only returned to the manor in 1951, when the Aevos Coalition War broke out. There, Margot lived in relative peace – albeit a spinster at almost thirty. During this time, Margot-Lucilla followed in the footsteps of her mother of writing. Unlike her mother, she did not publish any during her lifetime.

In 1960, while visiting the Hand of Horen, Margot met Robert of Talentine. Accompanied by her mother, Amelia hysterically suggested that the two meet. Reports suggest that Amelia was eager to get her youngest daughter married off, and may have paid Robert a hefty sum to speak with Margot– who was almost ten years his senior. Nonetheless, the two hit it off and were wed in 1963 in a private ceremony.

Marriage to Robert

Margot and Robert’s ceremony was held in the Haverlock private chapel, with only a few friends, family members, and other esteemed guests in attendance. Commenting to one of her handmaidens, Margot said she was “quite nervous.” Nonetheless, the two consummated the marriage, resulting in the birth of three children: Léon Henri, Isabelle Louise, and Auguste Percival. The two were wed for a short period of time, two years, before Robert was slain on accounts of vampirism. As was custom for Aaunic women, she went into a period of mourning.
