Joren Reimar Baruch was the second born son of Marius Baruch and Asia al-Damisid. Joren lived a fast life in the services of John of Carnatia in the Orenian navy. His sea-faring ways caught on in his family, instilling the ways of naval warfare into his children. After the Dukes' War, Joren was rewarded with a ship and small manor by the sea in Carnatia. With said ship, the Baruch family began to hunt whales along the Carnatian coast, creating a proud tradition of whaling in the Baruch family.

Unfortunately, just two years after the birth of his daughter, Isabel Baruch, his frequent whale hunts got the better of him. During a hunt in the winter of 1576, his ship was butted by an Orca, sending him skittering into the water. Due to parts of the water being covered in ice, Joren was trapped beneath the surface and drowned.
