The Barony of Dùnrath, also known simply as Dùnrath (Common: Dunrae (/dʌn.ˈre/)) is an absolute hereditary monarchical barony made up of primarily Humans and the home of Agnethe people. It is situated by Loch Fiag , on the south coast of Rænrland (Agnethe: Ranadh a deas), bordering the Hamlet of Alba in the Holy Orenian Empire, and has a population of approximately 4,000 in the city proper. It is the largest city in the Rænrland and third-largest city in the Kingdom of Norland.

Dùnrath was founded as a fortified, primarily Agnethe, trading post, by the Clan Chief of the United Clans of Barr and Suther, Daibhidh MacFhilib Sutharlainn. It was initially planned for farms and barns for the Sutherland Corporation, but the Clan Chief decided to turn it into a settlement where it would be able to host the population living in the area. The Baron also attracted significant numbers of his Sutican and Urguanian allies to populate the Baron. The Port of Dùnrath is now the largest port in the Rænrland.

Dùnrath is also the home to many scholars, as the city includes the Cèilidh Hall and the Tavern Library. There are scholars' meetings every once in a while and also acts as the centre of Arts, Music and Literature of the area.

Name

The city was named Dùnrath in the start of the city’s building and simultaneously given the Common name Dunrae. The Agnethe name was given after the wish of good fortune for the people, as Rath means good fortune in the Agnethe Language. The english variation of Rae is a phonetic variation for the pronunciation in Rath.

Both the Agnethe and Common names were in use before SA 43. But a popular vote suggested that the endonym of Dùnrath should be the principal way of which the city should call itself.
