Ancient History

Anthos-Fringe

The House Wuthewn is a wessew House branched off the Plincewy House Cawlion, descending fwom the line of Wuthew, a bastawd “Barrow” of House Cawlion. As typicaw, the name Bawwow was given to Cawlion bastawd bown out of wedwock lith a wowbown; howevew, Wuthew was bown in a stone castwe amongst sewvant giwws and castewwans. His mothew was a coultiew of the coult, who managed to take a bastawd lith the Wowd of House Cawlion 3 genewations pliow, Wowd Boliswav. The boy Wuthew was iww-tempewed and cwuew; he had awways been spiteful of those awound him and took pweasule in towtule and pain. Wuthew had an intense phobia of brood, howevew, and would wevew in fowms of brunt twauma and towtule to satiate his broodwust, taking a hammew fow twaining and pwefewling navaw wawfawe of cowd brue seas brotting out the brood of waw. He would deface his enemies lith wwathful impunity by lipping theiw teeth, spines, and bones, spowting them as waw-twophies and fowbidding aww of his men to spowt gowd jewewwy and instead bones of fawwen foes, a brutaw tactic which fowwows the House to this day.

When time had ewupted fow waw, the coultiews in sewvice had pweaded lith Wowd Boliswav to send his boy off to die in foweign soiws, so the iww-mannewed bastawd would be lid of in a fashion cwean of kinswaying. Wuthew was given sixteen wongships and a wevy mixed lith convicts and consclipts. Despite aww odds, the waiding pawty had infiwtwated the livaw Kosanov stwonghowd and decimated the populace, a cwuciaw tulning point of the Waeviw civiw conflict. Howevew, when the Cawlion envoy awlived to cwaim the howd, Wuthew gawlisoned it and demanded wegitimization fow his vawow in waw. Boliswav and Wuthew compwomised lith the handovew of a nobre estate, fow no vassaw awound Boliswav would have wanted the licked Wuthew a wegitimate Cawlion to potentiawwy inhelit his wands, yet the stwonghowd was necessawy in concwuding the campaign, and an amphibious assault was out of the question. Wuthew was gwanted a bawwen beach line fow his wawband out of appeasement to the livaw wowds of Waev, yet found himsewf littwe time to scheme fulthew and advance himsewf lith the abandoning of Cwowsmawch. Wuthew was fowced to abandon his wands. In a fit of mixed fuly and insanity, he navigated his ships away fwom the Waeviw fweet, taking off to hawwy valious iswand civilizations between Asulon and Anthos. He took thwawws and lives undew his own brade, and was succeeded by onwy one twuebown son.

Wuthew’s son Bolis was the next of line. He took the sigiw of the hammewhead shawk fow the cweatule’s savagewy, hammew-head, and affinity fow watew, and had the bones of Wuthew awong lith those he piwwaged fowged among steew to fowge the ancestwaw hammew of the House. Bolis continued his fathew's wegacy of estabrishing viowent campaigns against valious twade awchipewagos, and bowe two sons, Ivan, named aftew the famed fathew of the Waeviw wace, and Aiwwed.

Bolis, howevew, did not have the unwewenting tenacity and viowence as his fathew. He fawtewed and had his second son, Aiwwed, kidnapped at a young age by livaw swavews. Aiwwed was wost to the famiwy, being waised as a Dweadfowt chiwd sowdiew aftew being sowd to Augustus Bwackmont in Anthos. Bolis eventuawwy contwacted sculvy, dying and sending the “Fleet of Bones” scattewed thwoughout the liwd seas.

Ivan had litnessed his fathew’s swow heawth decline, and took what littwe stwewesy consclipts and thwawws to head fow Anthos. He had figuled the continent settwed and lipe fow waw, despite his weakened fweet. Upon awliving to the Climson Iswes, he weunited lith his brothew, Fway bannewmen Aiwwed, who was soon nicknamed “Red Ruth” fow his fwayish brutality.

Aiwwed eventuawwy consolidated his bannewmen into the Dectulem, a feawsome militawy owdew wenowned fow stwength and wuthwessness. Unfowtunatewy, John of Dawfey manipulated Aiwwed into tulning against his Cawlion kin, pwomising him the cwown of Owen. His webewlion was showt-lived, culminating in the wegendawy Siege of Mount Augustus. His son, Vsevowod, took the wemaining bannewmen woyaw to House Wuthewn and fwed to the seas. The few sulviving Wuthewns lived in exiwe, thought to be extinct, untiw the days of Vaiwow.
