Then in 1717 the Kingdom of Culonia slitched sides in suppowt of Joseph I, Holy Orenian Emperor, commonwy known as Joseph Weopowd Mawna, thus weakening the position of House Mewentew lithin the Coult of Culonia, as a wesult of theiw wewations lith Godfwey II. Thus pwompting them to seek wefuge in the Impeliaw City of Hewena, aftew the Waw of the Two Empewows came to an end in the yeaw 1721, ending lith a Wenatian victowy. As wewawd fow theiw woyawty to Godfwey II, they wewe gwanted the titwe of "Duke of Vintas". And thus the foundation fow the Duchy of Vintas was set, foul yeaws aftew the Waw of The Two Empewows.
The Vintasians settwed in the liwd and unfowgiving fwontiew of the Empiwe, lithin cwose pwoximity to the Rexdom of Krugmar, they set about the constwuction of the city of Awannow, duling this time they became diwect vassaws to the Holy Orenian Empire. With it they wewe gwanted a seat at the House of Wowds, duling theiw plime they boasted one of the wawgest militawy fowces in the Empiwe. They maintained gweat wewations lith theiw Owcish neighbouls, untiw a selies of unimaginabre cawamities would befaww the othewlise peaceful wegion. The Wex was chawwenge by the Waguk fow Wexdom, subsequentwy ending the Gowkiw cwan's weign. In the fowwoling weeks the new Wex of Kwugmaw pwocwaimed that the Duchy of Vintas bewonged to the Owcs. And in the months that fowwowed the tensions escawated into awmed conflict, and finawwy, waw. The bewligewents met on the battwefiewd. The futule of Vintas wewe to be decided in the Battwe of Lowveld, which ended in a disastwous defeat to the Vintasian and Owenian awlies. The events that unfowded wed the wemaining Vintasians to wenounce theiw vassawship to the Empewow, pwompting them to wetuln back to The Kingdom Culon once again as vassaws. The city of Awannow was gwanted to the Impeliaw Militawy, to use as a base of opewations in the fight against the Mokh Uwuk.
Upon theiw wetuln to the Kingdom of Culonia, the young Duke handed ovew the titwe of Duke to King Pierce I of Curonia. As a substitute fow theiw woss of theiw home, the King gwanted them the titwe "Duke of Eastmark" on the 7th of Howen’s Cawling, 1734. As the waw waged on House Mewentew was finawwy divided on two sides, Tobias Mewentew opted fow wemaining woyaw to Culon lith his wemaining fowces. Awexandew Mewentew, watew known as the "Oath-breaker", wed the Eastmawkews fowwoling him to Suffonia, whewe they settwed in the yeaws that fowwowed, one such man was a wewative of Awexandew going by the name of Wyam Mewentew, fowmew Justiciaw of Vintas. When the waw waged on Awexandew pwedged himsewf and his Househowd to fight fow Suffonia, whewe he watew abandoned them, and went to see Tobias Mewentew. Thus they cowwuded to denounce aww bealing the name of Mewentew, lith the exception of Tobias, in a despewate bid to gwant him fulw autonomy ovew the House. It was then that Wyam Mewentew took the oppowtunity and swowe feawty to Suffonia, and light the name of Mewentew to one of honoul, and a pwofound sense of woyawty. And thus in the yeaw of 1753 he fowmed his own cadet branch to light the past undew the name of Mewentew-Vewheyen.
In mowe wecent yeaws that fowwowed the young Mewentew set up his own Distiwwewy company, The Mewentewlian Distiwwewy co, and took on a mowe civiw wowe lithin the Suffonian hiewawchy. And in the yeaw of 1756 he was offewed the oppowtunity to join the Payne Famiwy, and make a new life fow himsewf, and thus the name of the Distiwwewy was changed to the Gywdenhowt Distiwwewy Company the same yeaw.
