Harren Anastasyus var Ruthern is a Haeseni noble, diplomat and ambassador, who serves as the Haeseni Ambassador to Oren. He is the second son of Duke Maric Ruthern, who served as Lord Palatine of Haense.

Early Life

Harren Anastasyus var Ruthern was born on the 4th of the Grand Harvest, 1802, in Greyspine. He is the second son of Maric Ruthern and Anabela Ruthern (née Vilac). His mother, despite being a Knight of the Order of the Crow, struggled with alcoholism, and would pass in 1809. His father would be appointed as Lord Palatine of Haense in 1810, as a result, Harren spent most of his youth with tutors and servants in Greyspine.

Education

Harren, along with his twin sister, Tatiana, attended the Royal Academy of Saint Charles in Karosgrad. They would both graduate with a history degree from the Academy in 1812. Afterward, Harren became a ward under the Aulic Envoy, Andrik Jan Baruch, and served as the deputy to Viktor Kortrevich, who was his predecessor as Haeseni Ambassador to Oren.

Career

Ambassador to Oren

Following Viktor Kortrevich’s retirement in 1816, Harren was appointed as the Haeseni Ambassador to Oren. Alongside Harren’s appointment, Konrad Lauritsen was appointed as his deputy. The first project undertaken during his time as ambassador was the renovation of the Haeseni Embassy in Oren, which had gone into a derelict state due to lack of usage. The Embassy was further renovated in 1821, the building raised slightly to create a fourth floor, the two top floors now serving as apartments for the ambassador.

In 1819, Harren would write the Greyspine Convention, which created terms for protection of the Canonist clergy and their buildings during the War of Three Kingdoms. The Greyspine Convention was generally viewed favourably by the Canonist world, as the clergymen and faithful alike had feared that Norland would use the war to attempt to eradicate the Canonist faith.

Marriage

Harren married his childhood friend and sweetheart Adalia de Astrea in 1821, the two aged 19 and 18 respectively. The two had initially met during the so-called War of the Lifstala that had occurred during the 1806 Haeseni social season. Adalia would later join the Court of Greyspine in 1811, having left Aurveldt over a dispute with her older sister, Analiesa.

Harren proposed in 1818, as the conclusion for a speech he was delivering in favour of Adalia’s first Alderman Campaign. Adalia would be elected both in 1818 and 1822, currently still serving as an Alderwoman. The couple had their first children, Harren and Adalia, on the 3rd of the Sun's Smile, 1824.
