The Common Tongue, also known as Common, is known by near all of the people of Aos and Eos and is the primary language of inter-social relations between civilized groups. Common was the language employed by the Four Brothers, though many traditions maintain that to be untrue and Common to simply be the representation of a heavily altered dialect of the ancient language. Races such as the Elves or Dwarves retain their own ethnic languages (Elven and Dwed respectively).

Descendant Languages

Old Marian

The Grenzi speak the language of their forefathers in the original Realm of Hanseti of the 14th-16th centuries, today referred to as Old Marian. A combination of the ancient Hansetian Language introduced by the founder and first King Gaius Marius and a Nordic dialect brought in by the absorbed northern Aegis peoples during the Teutonic Orders campaign for Human consolidation. Throughout many centuries, the language has maintained fairly true to its original form with newer entries being adapted to its vocabulary as needed.
