Belvitz

Belvitz is the capital of the Duchy of Adria (formerly the Republic of Vrakai). Nestled within the estuary of the Baltas River, the city was quick to draw in traders and craftsman who sold their wares in and decided to settle the area. The geography of Belvitz consists of two distinct areas - the cosmopolitan town and Belvitz Castle which is used as the headquarters of the Black Reiter Company.
History
Construction
Construction on the Whispering Crossroads was initially overseen by Reginald d'Amaury and the Black Reiter Company. He had laid out the plans for a small wooden fort overlooking the junction. This would serve as the Reiters' temporary base of operations as they patrolled the roads and fulfilled contracts. Over time, people were drawn in to the area of Belvitz due to the Reiters' protection and its central location in Atlas. A tavern sprung up across the road, and following suit were small hovels. The small hovels would eventually transform into full townhouses and estates as the town developed and people prospered. For now, the town expands at an unprecedented rate, with revisions and additions constantly being made. With the aid of the Montfort Masonry Guild, the citizens of Belvitz developed their taste for fine architecture, allowing for much needed renovations. In time, the Reiters would erect themselves a proper fortress, looming over the junction past the Crossroad's fork. The construction of Belvitz Castle was a large feat in engineering accomplished by few men.
Geography
The town of Belvitz is located in the center of Atlas. It sits upon the Whispering Crossroads and the Baltas River, which connects nearly all major nations of Atlas to one another.

Castle Belvitz - Castle Belvitz serves as the primary base of operation for the Black Reiter Company. It is situated to overlook the Whispering Crossroads.
Mother's Breast Tavern - Tavern owned by the de Bruyne family. Over the years it has gone several renovations and even hosted tournaments. Travelers often stop at the tavern for respite or to refill their supplies.
