The Battle of the Westmark was a pitched field battle fought between the Grand Covenant and the League of Veletz and their Allies during the Aevos Coalition War. It was one of the largest upsets in military history and served as a notable point in the war as it routed the Covenant's advance. The victory brought forth a new era of field warfare as a result of the League's heavy use of light cavalry which was the primary reason for their success.
In Popular Culture
The resounding success of the Veletzians in the field of Westmark became a cultural inspiration for the arts. In the years following the victory, several war songs were published by Veletzian bards and played in taverns across the Aevosi landscape. The first and most popular of which being, Little Brascalite by Radmir Montalt [1]. His tunes were said to inspire the subsequent We’ll All Go Down to Balian! by Thalien Wynasul [2] and WestMark Road by Aleksei Godunov [3].
