Prelude

It was a sticky afternoon in the harsh jungles of the South. Tensions were high as the day was the date given for the ultimatum given by forces of the Silver State of Haelun'or mere months before. High Elves and Wood Elves alike prepared for the possible encounter, with many Wood Elves preparing defensive stratagems and High Elves giving patriotic and rousing speeches as the hour of battle approached. As the time came, the world alike turned their eyes South in anticipation. Many simply waiting for what was to come...

Battle

As the mass of Sillumir and their allies advanced upon the capital of Nevaehlen, the Wood Elves of Nevaehlen sent out a call for help. Bells rang and birds went out, though only the Redcloaks of Norland answered, massing and riding south to aid their allies. The advancing High Elves amassed at the gates to the city, giving one last call to surrender to the terms stated months prior. After no response, the attackers used a ladder and climbed in through the thicket of trees, taking the defenders by surprise. Cries were made, yells to arms going out among the defenders as the High Elves drew blades and prepared for battle.

Suddenly, a horn came from behind the attacking High Elves. A column of Redcloaks, led by High Keeper Ellenore had arrived to Nevaehlen in the nick of time. Rallying cries from the Norlanders echoed throughout the Vale, drawing the attention of a minority of the Haelun'orian rally. As the battle commenced, a majority of the Haelun'orians charged towards the Nevaehlen Gladeguard, whilst the Norlandic Redcloaks fell back into defensive positions across the main bridge leading to the gates. The sweep of the Nevaehlen forces was swift, as the outnumbered Gladeguard attempted to get to defensible positions, being overran. As the Sillumir spread through the city, ransacking it, attention soon got called to the bridge, as the Haelun'orians rallied their forces to face those of Norlanders.

The battle continued as both sides proceeded to shoot volley after volley of arrows at each other in an attempt to thin out each rally, though to no avail. A task force of 200 High Elves and 100 Dwarves were dispatched to cross the river at a different point to engage 100 Norlanders that had gone up in an attempt to get a better position. The Norlanders were soon overran, though the 300 attackers soon were charged by a sizeable portion of the Norlandic rally, forcing a temporary retreat. As the Norlandic tide went forth, the Sillumir leadership decided this was the decisive moment, calling for a direct charge into the Redcloaks. The battle turned bloody as the mass of Sillumir charged the Norlandic rally, crashing into them. Soon, the battle became a rout as Norlandic and Haelun'orian troops began to fall. The chaos of the clash took effect as the Sillumir started to push through the Norlanders, creating panic as the remaining attempted to flee. Men and women of high ranking were taken prisoner, whilst all others were killed or left to rot on the field of battle.

Aftermath

Among the prisoners taken, some were high ranking Nevaehlen council members, whilst the Norlanders were handed over to the custody of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan under the watchful eye of Grand Marshal Sigrun 'Dragonslayer' Ireheart. The Silver State of Haelun'or released a missive acknowledging the events of the day, officially declaring war.
