Joren Reimar Baruch was the second born son of Marius Baruch and Asia al-Damisid. Joren lived a fast life in the services of John of Carnatia in the Orenian navy. His sea-faring ways caught on in his family, instilling the ways of naval warfare into his children. After the Dukes' War, Joren was rewarded with a knighthood, a ship, and a small manor by the sea in Carnatia.
