Amelia of Lewes (born Amelia Paulina Varoche, 19 Godfrey’s Triumph, 1892) was the daughter of Sigismond, Count of Varoche and Ipera Falstaff. Around her twentieth year, her father was beheaded in the Heinrik's Rebellion, thus causing her to flee from the Duchy. She wed Fernand of Virdain in 1928, holding the title Baroness of Lewes until Fernand’s abdication in 1961. Because of this marriage, she was the aunt of Adela of High Peak and was a staunch supporter of the Auvergnat woman. She reportedly sobbed when news of Adela’s passing reached her in 1951.
She was the author of several plays, Il Complotto Della Moglie, Guerra Sil Fiume, Tara of Paradisus, several poems, and one short story, "La Mucca." Amelia enjoyed moderate success in her lifetime, amassing a sum of around 500 mina from her writings, 400 of which were bequeathed to her son, Henri.
Amelia died in 1976, at the age of 84 under mysterious circumstances.
