The Lurak-Vikela War, sometimes called The Eastern War, is an ongoing large-scale conflict between the Rexdom of Lurak and the Concord of Coastal Companions (CCC for short). The war began when Vikela refused Lurak's ultimatum regarding the replanting of trees and their supposed abuse of natural life. Citing that the Spirits had been unsettled by Vikela's actions, Lurak's young new Rex named Rue'Lur issued a declaration of war upon Vikela. Shortly after, Vikela was joined in its defense by its web of allies known as the Concord of Coastal Companions, escalating the war from a one-on-one regional war to a significant war of regional dominance.
Skirmishes, Battles, and Sieges
- 5th of the Grand Harvest, 187 S.A. - Siege of Maehrnor - Luraki Victory
Timeline
184 S.A.
- At an assembly held in Lurak's capital, Rex Rue'Lur issues a declaration of war upon the Queendom of Vikela, citing their refusal to accept their previously made demands. [1]
- In response, Vikela calls upon its allies in the CCC, in which the alliance stands united. [2]
- Lurak initiates raids on Vikelan lands, causing minor casualties. No large-scale battle occurs yet.
185 S.A.
- The leaders of Lurin claim their signature was forged on the document claiming they would join the war, and thus declare they have no intention of marching on Lurak.
- Soon the rest of the CCC alliance members follow with the exception of the Duchy of Brabant, who sends a force of 200 men to strengthen the frontier Vikelan garrisons.
186 S.A.
- Realizing that she is not experienced enough to lead the war effort, Queen Medea I hands over control of Vikela to Cerrick Fenifaer, naming him Lord-Marshal.
- Having consulted the Red Spirits, the Orcs decide to delay their assault on the Vikelan castle of Maehrnor in order to satisfy the spirits. Thus, the Luraki invasion is stalled for religious reasons.
187 S.A.
- Having been granted an omen by the Red and Blue spirits to continue their war effort, the Luraki host continues its march on the Vikelan castle of Maehrnor and lays siege to the castle. The Vikelan-Brabantine garrison refuses to surrender, sparking the Siege of Maehrnor, which ends in a decisive Luraki victory.
