William Roswell acquired his infamy through numerous questionable acts such as wenching and marrying without his fathers consent. Due to his fathers absence on many battlefields he was often left to represent House Roswell by leading the Istrian legion alone, which garnered the only positive aspect of his reputation. He later acquired the island of Hassheld, starting to fortify the island soon after ascending himself to the self-endowed title of Lord of Hassheld. This was the catalyst to numerous arguments and disagreements with his father whichculminated in his disownment from the Roswell family after he refused to incorporate the isle into the Duchy of Istria. He eventually started negotiations with the emperor to protect his lands from the Orcs, but he was soon after slain by orcs at the footsteps of his castle, leaving a son and a widowed wife alive. His lands later went to his brother [[Richard Roswell]] rather than his son.

William Edward Roswell (16 Amber Cold 1531 – 20 Sun's Smile 1558) was the third son of Duke Arthur of Istria and ruled as the Viscount of Hassheld from 1550 to 1558. He was notorious for his scandalous actions, premarital promiscuity, and controversial marriage to a lowborn mistress.

William at a young age was known for his decadent nature and unnutured attitude, carrying on multiple affairs with wenches and prostitutes in his early years. William himself, however, proved to be an accomplished warrior in the field during multiple raiding campaigns against the southern orcish tribes and Tarchar hordes. He later claimed the island known as Hassheld, situated between his father's own duchy to the north and the orcish tribelands to the south, and created the title Viscounty of Hassheld. This was the catalyst to numerous arguments and disagreements with his father, which eventually culminated in his disinheritance after he refused to pay tribute to his liege father. He attempted to negotiate with the Emperor, the then John Sigismund, but his countless scandals, trysts, and his own father's clout in the Imperial Court hindered any achievement in his favor.

William was slain in the year 1558 during an orcish raid upon his island, his soldiers stationed upon the island declaring his brother, Richard Roswell, as Viscount, entirely skipping over his son to a lowborn wife in hopes of preventing future issue.
