The Capital of Viralondë is a tall fortress nestled atop the peaks on the fringe of the Barrowlands. It is inhabited primarily by Wood Elves, Dark Elves and High Elves who have pledged their swords to the Crown and transitioned into being Ichorians, or Alderfolk.

History

The city was founded by the Ithelanens following their exodus from Caras Eldar in 1685. The battlements and towers were constructed by Lady Mae'lyrra Ithelanen and her followers, while many of the tents were pitched and pathways installed by High Chancellor Lothryc. The city was officially declared a free and independent state from the ailing Dominion of Malin on the 15th of the Sun's Smile, 1686 with the Establishment of the Enclave.

Discovery and Reconstruction

An old elven ruin was discovered, a disheveled and ancient structural outline that was excavated by Auriel Lothryc, Kairn Ithelanen, and Kaz Ithelanen after the Exodus. Tunnels were discovered beneath the ground and many aging blueprints found as well, so liberties were taken and new plans drawn up with heavy inspiration from the documents that were taken. The main keep was finally finished in 1690, and the Ithelanens and their retinue now inhabit the keep and its prestigious throneroom is inhabited by many trophies of the Bronze Rebellion, Coalition Wars, and War For the Loftywoods.

Location event

There have been a number of raids and conflicts that have taken place in the camp prior to the reconstruction of the fortress. Early into the establishment of the Company of Gladewynn, the Kadarsi threatened the King and his followers before attempting to take the camp and the elves inside and put them to the torch. The force was successfully repelled by the Elves who had the advantage of being on their home turf. Further attempts to seize the land have not been made, and the Company quickly allied itself with the Empire of Man to avoid further squabbles over lands and territories in the Barrowlands.

Geography

The rocky mountains and cliff faces are treacherous in the Barrowlands. Because the terrain is so dangerous, the land had to be gradually tamed over the years. Nonetheless, the wildlife thrives and there is plenty of water, but the land is barren and crops are few and far between.
