The fight took place on 16th of the Grand Harvest in 1539 near Luciensport, Balain. The fight was the climax of the Saltstone Affair, where both Philip Augustus and Philip de Sola attempted to apprehend Rendon for his part in subterfuge. When Rendon resisted arrest, he killed both young nobles in single combat before fleeing.
