Thus chronicles the death of Dolabra, the only known suicide among the ranks of the Ascended. It is unknown if copies exist in any realm.

The Scroll

A world of life, of song, of love,
A world of fear, of doubt.
A world so vast, of peace, of heart,
A world that I shall pass on.
A life of light, of prosperity, of excitement,
A life of sorrow, of fear.
A life so joyous, with brothers, with sisters,
A life that I shall pass on.

This is the final writing I make to my brethren the Ascended, and my many friends whose race follows not that way. My life amongst you has given me warmth wherever I traveled, and has strengthened me in the heat of battle. With some, it is a friendship that I fear never blossomed to its full beauty, yet a friendship that I hope impacted the world for the better.

My time on this world has been short, and I feel that my activity amongst the community has impacted this decision. I promised to be more than I needed to be, and being less than I promised in this world stabs me like a dagger.

I write this as I leave Haven for the final time, bound for the very gates of Heaven, where Aeriel awaits me.
