Telekinesis

Long have the descendants fabled of powerful beings able to move objects with a sheer thought. Left without explanation, although through much research of manadynamics and its effect on mechanics, the magical art of telekinesis was found.

Specifications

The magic art of telekinesis consists of a mage evoking the gravity around an object temporarily. The force, just like it would do in evocation, fades quickly after the magic is dismissed, leaving the object free of its artificial force of gravitation. This, of course, takes much knowledge of gravity. Limited to solid, non living objects as well as a certain weight and amount of objects. Another note is that the telekinetic is unable to completely deflect an object flying at them, although they are able to redirect it slightly to miss them. There are few things that affect the amount of mana consumed and fatigue gained by the manipulation of an object, or multiple objects:

- The weight of the object; the higher the weight, the more the mana consumed; - The amount of objects manipulating; the more the objects manipulated, the more the mana consumed; -

Levels

Tier one
  • Limited to one object at a time, with a max of 5 kilograms. They are limited to a slow speed.
Tier two
  • Now they are able to manipulate objects to a greater extent. Allowing a medium speed, and 12 kilograms.
Tier three
  • A 50 kilogram max, with a far greater speed. This is when the telekinetic is able to manipulate multiple objects.
Tier four
  • At near mastery they are able to manipulate 80 kilograms.
Tier five
  • Now they are able to lift 300 kilograms, increasing 5 kilograms per elven week that the magi practices telekinesis.

How to learn

Although it is suggested to find a teacher, you are able to self teach this magic through research and explanation.

Make sure to apply on here[1]

Red Lines

  • Manipulating living things, liquids or gasses. Plants do not fall into this category.
  • Lifting more than one's character would be able to do.
  • Stopping arrows in the air and sending them back at the person who fired it. One may redirect arrows in many directions but never fully stop something going at that speed.

Random Tidbits

  • Contrary to popular belief, telekinesis is actually not exerting force on an object using the void! It's actually altering the gravitational force around the object to push or pul it various directions.
  • Powerful ghosts and apparitions are able to leviate objects, but it isn't the same magic as telekinesis.
  • Did you know that with use of an mana Obelisk, a town may have many floating objects inside it?
