Sven Eiriksson Ruric was selected as King by Kingsmoot after the abdication of his father, Eirik Thorsson Ruric, in 1551. He was succeeded by his older brother, Hakon Eiriksson Ruric. During his father's reign, Sven pursued the life of a Bard, and spread word across Norland of the virtues of the arts, leading to further growth in his own rule. Late in his life, Sven was declared a Paragon of the Red Faith, specifically in relation to the arts, music, and celebrations.
