The Silver Merchant Sovereignty, founded in the 17th of Sun’s Smile, 147 of the Second Age by Yera Silveira, is a coalition of wealthy, ambitious, and influential merchants. Status within this Sovereignty is determined by one's Minas, power, and influence, effectively creating a meritocracy.
The Grand Exchange
The Grand Exchange is an ongoing auction house that allows customers and shareholders to post items for auction. These items are held in-house, and potential buyers can browse the list and place bids. The auction process is managed by Yera Silveira, Artano Silveira, or (through the bid channel in Discord). Periodically, items from the Grand Exchange are chosen for in-person auction events.
Membership Benefits
Auctions: Members can sell their items at a monthly auction, potentially earning a week's worth of sales in a single night. A portion of the profits from these auctions goes to the SMS, which is then redistributed to members through dividends.
Tax & Rent Free Shops: Shareholders enjoy tax and rent-free shop spaces.
Support Network: The SMS provides support for major problems, including protection against assassination attempts and assistance with dealing with difficult kingdom rulers.
Dividends: Members receive dividends at shareholder meetings, representing a share of the company's profits.
Shareholder Meetings: These meetings are held to make decisions about the direction of the Sovereignty.
Individuals can join the Silver Merchant Sovereignty by purchasing shares in the organization. The number of shares owned determines the percentage of the company's profits paid to members each month in the form of dividends. Shareholders with larger quantities of shares can obtain additional perks and honorary titles.
1% Ownership: Silver Merchant (Silver Grat’gin) - 1% dividends. 5% Ownership: Silver Merchant Baron(ess) (Silver Vaton(ess)) - 5% dividends. 10% Ownership: Silver Trade Count(ess) (Silver Co’tr(ine)) - 10% dividends. 15% Ownership: Silver Prince(ss) (Silver Gran’Luxz(i)) - 20% dividends.
