Safiye Stateira Basrid (High Imperial: Sophia Juliya), otherwise known as Lady Safiye of Susa, was a member of the House of Basrid. She was the fourth child and first daughter to Jahan Basrid, 1st Count of Susa and Selene Sabari. She married and later divorced Prince Peter, Count of Kaphro, and started the Scouts of Helena and later the Scouts of Providence.

Biography

Safiye Stateira was born on a warm beach in Ba'as under the Lily Rhenyari Zodiac, the same as her father. In Ba'as she was given a basic education along with the rest of the girls who lived on the beachside town. Though, she spent a lot of time around her brothers. The eldest being Iskander, Heir to the County of Susa. At the age of five, all three of her older brothers traveled to the grand court of Helena which her father was Majordomo of.

She would yet travel until the age of 8, being seen as a foreign beauty within the courts. She quickly made friends with Princess Elizabeth Anne and Mary Lucille. She showed much interest in studying magic, though her Great Uncle Simon, pushed her away from that fate. He desired the girl to grow old with a family of her own. So it would be, Safiye would go on to dig into different subjects. Specifically geology and law like two of her older brothers. Though, she went into law for her best friend Mary Lucille. Until the death of Mary Lucille, Safiye was constantly around the woman. Only growing apart when Mary had her own family to raise.

Marriage & Divorce

At the mere age of 9, Safiye would end up breaking both her legs riding a wyvern. While being wheeled about the Novellen, she'd meet her future husband, Peter Maximillan Novellen. The first words the boy ever said to her was; "You are a cripple". Although this made the firey girl angry, she did not allow it to push her away from making a new friend.

As their friendship continued, so did her feelings for Peter. Quickly falling for him, and with the blessing of Empress Anne I, Peter would propose to Safiye on a chilly spring night. They stayed engaged for almost five years during the inferni war before a brief break in it would allow for the two to wed. She wore a simple white gown and he, his ISA uniform. It was a humble marriage.

Almost three years after, she'd give birth to their first daughter, Victoria Clementine. The girl was a blessing to both, who quickly lost their spark. Yet two years later, even with little contact between the two, she'd give birth to their second daughter, Thea Augusta. This girl was deathly ill, causing Safiye to put all her attention on the sickly daughter instead of Victoria. Lastly, a year before the divorce of the two, she'd finally give birth to a healthy baby boy.

As said above, after Safiye had children, Peter lost all his interest in the woman. So after she had given birth to a legitimate heir, she was tossed to the side. The Pontiff quickly divorcing the two - without Safiye having a single say in it. This caused the woman to resent life for a very long time, growing cold and bitter to all but children.

Scouts of Helena & Providence

Safiye would start up a humble scout group for the children of Helena, which quickly grew into all human children. Never being one to turn away a child's curiosity. Her goal with the program was to have a place where children could play together as well as learning life skills. She'd give a child a badge for their uniforms sash if they successfully completed a task.

She'd continue to program up until a year before her death, leaving it without a successor. Many of her old scouts have tried to bring back these activities for children, but none have been successful.

Some notable scouts of the troop were,

Anna Henrietta of Provins

Philippa Josephine of Carrington

Minerva of Selm

Amadea of Pompourelia
