Richard, Duke of Courland

Richard Staunton was the eldest son of Percival Staunton and became the second Duke of Courland. He married Natalia Barbanov, daughter of Karl Barbanov. He is famed for introducing highly important and long lasting changes and reforms to the Courlandic military. He had three children, Alexander Staunton, Amelie of Courland and Anden Staunton.

He was the second Lord Patriarch of House Staunton.

Much like his wife, following the mental decline and eventual suicide of their second born son, Anden, Richard distanced himself from his former, more pleasant and happier self, developing into a colder, more stern individual until his death, aged 74.
