History

Founding of the Phoenix Band

The founding of the Phoenix Band traces its origins to the ill-perceived foreign policy of the Empire of Renatus. In the aftermath of the War of the Two Emperors, the Empire of Renatus sought to once more vassalize and incorporate the rebellious Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. These actions by the Imperial Crown did not bode well with much of the soldiery, who had warred with the Highlanders for countless years and advised the destruction of Haense. Thus, many disgruntled, like-minded Renatians banded together in defiance to Renatus's decision. Flocking to renowned war hero Donald Dabber, the veterans finally had a platform to stand upon and voice to speak their will. Donald Dabber and Owyn Alexander would part with the Empire all together, severing ties with what they believed to be a betrayal of Renatian ideology and cowardice. Together, the two men formed the basis of what was the Phoenix Band, comprised of dissidents of the 8th Empire and resentful Renatian veterans. In honor of the legacy of Renatus, the band took upon the Renatian phoenix as their arms.

Current History

Not long after the split from the Renatian Crown, the Phoenix Band would establish headquarters in the conquered lands of Guise, establishing the town of Brannby in its place. From this strategic location, the Phoenix Band has put out a general offer of service to those who possess minae in abundance.

Currently, the Phoenix Bands boasts a one hundred percent completion ratio of its contracts.

Organization

Advancement in the Phoenix Band is earned through blood and steel, with only the most skilled and intelligent soldiers attaining command.

Ranks

  • Captain: The Captain is the leader of all of the mercenaries of the company, hailing as one of the most prestigious combatants of the company. Having no bias to any nation and remaining as a neutral figure in picking and choosing contracts, all members of the company answer to the captain as the main authority figure.
  • Leftenant: Two Leftenant are always be present in affairs of the company, as advisors to the Captain himself. They also act as skilled combatants that can lead the company in contracts or general times of absence of the Captain. They have the ability to challenge the Captains words, but not to undermine him.
  • Sergeant-at-Arms: The recruit rank of the company, and the core of it. All new recruits, no matter what, are placed in to this. There is no need for a trial rank in the company as all recruits are thoroughly vetted as skilled fighters before being allowed entry.

Arms and Equipment

As the Phoenix Band is no regimented and standardized army, members of the band are allowed to utilize whatever armaments they see fit. Many members of the band often find they have excess coin after a successful contract, and thus spend their hard-earned money on the best weapons and armor at their disposal.

Operational History

The Band remains in its youth, having yet to partake in large scale conflicts or wars. However, they have participated in numerous smaller scale skirmishes and raids to resounding success.

Lineage

Foreign Relations

In order to maximize contract potential, the Phoenix Band operates on complete neutral foreign policy.

However, in notable exception, the Phoenix Company maintains permanent hostility with the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska for their crimes against the Crown of Renatus, which many current Phoenix Bandmen had previously served under, as veterans of the numerous wars fought with the Haensemen.
