New Jornheim is the current capital of the Dwarves that reside in the North, mainly the Frostbeards, Blackaxes and Goldhands. It's name was taken from the ancient Frostbeard home in Aegis, the legendary mountain city of Jornheim from which the Frostbeard Clan originated. New Jornheim was built upon the land where the Haenste capital of St. Karlsburg once stood, and was built after the hold of Jornheim was taken by spiders, after Azaghal Frostbeard, brother of King Verthaik II Frostbeard, dug too deep. Whilst the spiders took their old home, the Frostbeards focused on construction New Jornheim, in which now live both Dwarves and the occasional human, or elf.

History

Pre-New Jornheim

The land upon which New Jornheim was built had in the past been home to many different humans. In the early days of Grand King Algoda Frostbeard, the land was owned by the human Kingdom of Haense and was the location of St. Karlsburg, the human capital of the North. Upon the fall of Haense at the hands of Courlandic and Frostbeard warriors, the lands of Haense were split among the victors, with most of it going to Courland and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan receiving a single parcel of land. Among the damage was St. Karlsburg which was burnt to the ground. When the Frostbeards decided to officially leave the Grand Kingdom of Urguan under the reign of Grand King Bastion Ireheart, they journeyed north to the town of Vsevograd which had been built upon the ruins of St. Karlsburg. Here the Frostbeards found a friend in ruler of Vsevograd, Ostromir Kovachev. He offered them a hold in the mountain in exchange for their aide in war should Vsevograd ever be assaulted. The Frostbeards accepted and set about construction the Hold of Jornheim. Whilst living in Jornheim, a dragon assulted Vsevograd and burnt the city to the ground, it's keep and walls being the only things that remained structurally sound.

Fall of Jornheim

Despite the dragon attack on Vsevograd, the Frostbeards remained firmly settled in their mountain hold of Jornheim and enjoyed relative peace. Whilst digging deep into the mountain to construct his brewery, Azaghal Frostbeard, son of Kerwyr Frostbeard, broke into a spider liar, which let out a After the hold of Jornheim was taken by spiders, the Frostbeards and their allies fled from the infested halls, and set up camp in the ruins of Vsevograd, which had been destroyed by a dragon some years earlier. Over the span of a few years, the walls were repaired, as was the keep and as Dwarves trickled into the camp, houses began popping up, and streets began forming. Led by the architect Hamnil Frostbeard, the town of New Jornheim was done in ground breaking time, and the Frostbeards finally had a home again. The years following this were addorned with rapid growth, as Frostbeards began returning home in droves. Within a mere year, the entire town was full and builders Azaghal and Mithrad Frostbeard were forced to construct a farming district outside of the city to make sure that the citizens would be supplied with food, and that the farmers had a place to stay.

It was around this time that word reached the ears of Clan Lord Garrond, and Lord of Jornheim and New Jornheim, that war was coming to Axios. The forces of Oren, Urguan, Norland and other factions were rallying to attack the Romstuns, former allies of Frostbeards. In a last minute turn of events, the Frostbeards turned side from Oren and Urguan to join their old Romstun allies, and fought valiantly and bravely against three to one odds, but were eventually beaten back. The war destroyed the Romstuns who went off into hiding, but also showed the world that the Frostbeards and their allies could pack a serious punch, and as such, no further repercussions were issued towards New Jornheim and it's inhabitants. Soon after this, an agreement was reached between Verthaik II Frostbeard and Gror Ireheart that involved the return of Urguan land which had been won by the Frostbeards in the Frostbeard-Urguan war. In return for the land, which was mostly useless to the Frostbeards, Urguan would recognize New Jornheim's independence and would stop attempting to bring them back into the Kingdom they disliked so much.

Soon after the battle, Clan Lord Garrond called for a town meeting at which it was declared that the lands in the North would hence forth be refered to as the Kingdom of Kaz'Ulrah, named after the first Frostbeard and son of Urguan, Kaz'Ulrah Frostbeard. New Jornheim was designated as the capital of the new Kingdom, which included Frostbeards, Goldhands, Silverveins and Blackaxes, all Dwarf clans. At the same time, Clan Lord Garrond, and King for a very short period, stepped down from the throne due to his age and handed the crown and leadership of the Frostbeard clan to his most trusted advisor, Verthaik II Frostbeard.

Following this, New Jornheim continued swelling with numbers. New Warden Hamnil Frostbeard led construction of a new expansion in the Westward corridor of the city, and also established a new Tavern, which was given to Balder Frostbeard to run. Through hard work and efficient advertising, Hamnil was able to bring in large amounts of Frostbeards to Jornheim, alongside other kind minded people. It was around this time too that Thoak Goldhand returned and took reign of the Goldhand clan, and was soon appointed Coinmaster of Kaz'Ulrah. Alongside him, Jorgmal Frostbeard was promoted to Workforce Overseer, his job primarly being to seek out workers of any race to sharpen their skill in the forests, farms and mines of New Jornheim.
